ORDINJJJE NO. 1625 AN ORDINANCE DESIGNATING A PORTION OF PARIS AVENUE FROM 13TH STREET TO 1.4TH STREET A ONE-WAY STREET AND PERMITTING ONLY VEHICULAR TRAFFIC ProCEEDING NORTH ON SAID STREET; At1l'HORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF "ONE-WAY" SIGNS BY T}{g CITY TIW'FIC ENGINEER REPEALING AIJ, PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; PRlVlDING A PENALTY; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF THE DESCRIPTIVE CAPTION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY • W H E R E A s. the City Commission finds that a public necessity exists becau!le of increased vehicular traffic on that portion ot Paris Avenue hereinafter more particularly described, which requires tbat said portion of such street be designated as a one-way street; and W H E R E A s, the e:nactmen\ of this ordinance is necessary to preRene the public peace and safety requiring the suspension of all rules prortding for the several readings of an ordinance before final passage thereof oonatituting an emerge007; I 0 W T H E R E F 0 R &• BE. IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE Cl'rY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION l. That portion or Paris Avenue from ]3th to 14th Street is herebf designated as a one-vay street and only the vehicular traffic proceeding north on Paris Avenue from l)th to 14th Street shall be pend tted thereon. SECTION 2. The City Traffic EngiMer is hereby authorized and directed to place signs indicating a one-way street consistent vi th the provisioJ"I..s of thie ordirance. SECTION 3. It shalll bo unlawful tor any person to allow. permit or suffer any vehicle to be driven in violation of Section 1 of this ordinance, and any person, tirm or corporation upon conviction for violating an, provisions of this o.rdinanoe shall be fined in a sum not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200). SECTION 4. That all parts of ordiD&nces conflicting with the prmoisions hereof are hereby' repealed insofar as such ~nflict exists. SECTIOR S. That the City Secretar;y is hereby' authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this ordinance together with the penalty provision as provided by law. SECTION 6. That the increased traffic condition on the street. more particularly described in Section 1 hereof requires that this ordinance be passed and JD&de effective after its UDanimous passage at first reading.be.fore the City Commission for the immediate preservation of the public peace and safety and all rules requiring sewral readings of this ordinance are berebJ suspended and this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measW"8 and shall take effect with its first reading and passage and no second reading shall be required.
