AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LOADING ZONE ON THE EAST SIIE OF THE 1400
BLOCK OF AVENUE Q, BEGINNING AT A POINT 60 FEET SOUTH OP' THE ALIEr BETWEEN
13TH STREET AND 14TH STREET, AND EXTENDING SOUTH 15 FEET; REPEALING ALL CON-
FLICTING ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING THE PAINTING OF CURBS; AND IECLARING AN
EMr.:RGENCY.
WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety, changed traffic conditions,
business loading and unloading requirements making imperative the immediate
change in the establishment of a freight loading zone; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CI'l'I COMMISSION OF THE CI'l'I OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That a freight loading zone 1£, and is hereby established
in the following locations
o,. the East side of the 1400 Block of Avenue Q, beginning at a
point 60 feet South of the alley between 13th Street and 14th
Street, and extending South 15 feet.
SECTION 2. That aey part of aey ordinance or order conflicting herewith.
1B hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. That the Traffic EDgineer is hereby authorized 8lld directed
to cause the curbs in the above described zone to be painted and said zone
plainly marked as Loading Zone. -
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions, creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment
of this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby' oreating
a public necessity tbat the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be pre-
sented at two separate Commission meetiDgs be dispensed with; and this or-
dinance ahall be effective from the date of its passage as provided by law.
