HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1601-1954 - Abandoning Portion Of The Public Street Situated Between Block 6 And 7. - 09/09/1954Con y -24-54 to ity l!.ngr. & City Atty. 09-09-·l954- 0RDINANCE t«>. 1601 09 -~ ~ l.9!""':5=-rq~- AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING, VACATIJG AND CLOSING THAT PARr AND FORI'ION OF THE PUBLIC STREET SITUATED BETWEEN BLOCK ~ AND 7, SOU1'H SIDE ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LUBOOCK1 AS JESCRIBED BY MET1!3 AND BOUNIS Ill THE BODY OF THIS ORDIN- ANCE. wmm&AS, the City COliiDission finds that the part and portion of the pub- lic street situated between Block 6 and 7 of the South Side Addition to the City of Lubbbelc ia no longer needed tor street purposes 1 other right-ot-way having been substituted and now being used for the purpose for which the said hereinafter described property was dedicated and would be in the public in- terest to close, vacate and abandon the same for street purposes; THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCKs SECTION 1. That the part and portion or the public street situated be- tween Block 6 and 7, South Side Addition to the City of Lubbo~, Lubbock County, Texas, as shown on the plat of said addition, recorded in Volume 16, page 18 of the Deed Racords of Lubbock County, Texas, described by metes and botmds as follows: Beginning at the Northwest corner ot Lot 12, Block 6 of said Addition; Thence West 30 feet to a'point; Tbence'Nortb 80 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 14, Block 6 of said additi~; Thence East 30 feet to a point; Thence South 80 teet to the point ot begirmi~. BE, and the same is hereby abandoned, vacated and olosed for street purposes. SECTION 2. That it is the intention of the City Col!lldssion to abandon, vacate and close for street purposes the East 30 feet of the public street abutting lots 13 and 14 of Block 6~ South Side Addition to the City of Lubbock.
