AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF
ORLANDO AVENUE FROM 34TH I)TREET TO 35TH STREET: AUTHORIZING
THE PLACING OF UNIFORM SIGNS AND PAINTING OF THE CURBS; PROVI-
DING A PENALTY; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF THIS CAPTION; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
G it y At t. W HER E AS , the City Commiss-ion finds that the congestion of moving
Planning vehicular traffic on Orlando Avenue requires the elimination of parking in the
Engr, area described in the caption of this ordinance, and further finds that such

Police and safetyt constituting an emergency; NOW, THEREFORE,
Ch1 ef. -BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That the parking of vehicles is prohibited at all times:
On the West .s.ide of Orlando Avenue from 34th Street w
35th Street.
SECTION z. It shall be unlawful for any person to allow, permit or
suffer any vehicle to be parked on that portion of the street described in
Section 1 {One) of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to paint the curbs and to place uniform signs at the locations described in
Sec~on 1 (One) consistent with the provhdons of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. Any person, firm, or corporation who shall violate the
provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction,. be fined in any sum not
exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200).
SECTIONs. The fact that heavy, congested traffic requires the imme ..
diate and full use ·of that portion of Orlando Avenue described in Section 1 (One)
of this ordinance constitutes an emergency requiring the suspension of all rules
providing that no ordinance shall be enacted at the meeting of its introduction;
and such rules are suspended to preserve the public peace and safety, and this
ordinance shall be effective from and after its unanimous passage.
