AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE TAX RATE AND LEVYING A TAX UPON
ALL PROPERTY SUBJECT TO TAXATION WITHIN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK,
TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR 1954; APPORTIONING SAID LEVY AMONG THE
VARIOUS FUNDS AND ITEMS FOR WHICH REVENUE MUST BE RAISED;
, LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX UPON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE; FIX•
ING THE TIME IN WHICH SAlD TAXES BE PAID; AND ASSESSING PENALTY
AND INTEREST FOR NON-PAYMENT OF SUCH TAXES WITHIN THE TIME
PROVIDED.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That there shall be levied and assess.ed upon all property
su'Qject tQ taxation within the City of Lubbock, Texas., for the year 1954 the
sum of $1.62 per One Hundred ($100) Dollars• valuation thereof, and the same
shall be applied to the various funds in the following manner:
$0. 9215per $100 valuation -to the Interest and Sinking Fund
• 648Sper $10.0 valuation • to the General Fund
.OSOOper $100 valuation .. to the Board of City Development Fund -.-l ...... 'l2_
SECTION z.. That all ad valorum taxes shall be paid before the first day
of February, 1955, and taxes.not paid by that time shall have added to said
taxes such penalty and interest as provided in Ordinance No. 132.9.
SECTION 3. That there is levied upon all occupations taxable, one-half
(1/Z.) the sum levied by the State of Texas for pursuing such occupation.
