WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the area hereinafter described is being greatly improved by the construction of an extension of 4th Street East to the Idalou Road and said area so described being in line of development, growth and expansion being experienced by the City of Lubbock, and that annex- ation of said area will be in the best interest of the public health, morals, safety and general welfare and the Commission is authorized to annex said area under its Charter provisions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMCSSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That the following described area abutting and adjacent to the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, described by the mates and bounds as follows to -wit: „Beginning at a point on the present City Limits line and being 30.0 feet East and 513.4 feet South of the N.E. corner of Survey 4, Block 0, Lubbock County, Texas, said point being 400 feet Southeasterly and at right angles to the centerline of U. S. Highway 62 as extended from the Northeast; Thence Northeasterly, parallel with, and 400 feet from, measured at right angles to said highway centerline a distance of 3567.1 feet more or less to a point 30 feet West of the West line of the Southeast f of Section 3, Block A; Thence North and parallel to said West line of the Southeast J- of Section 3, Block A, a distance of approximately 31.7 feet to a point on the North line extended West of Block 16 of the Morning View Addition, Installment No. 2 to the City of Lubbock; Thence East along the North line of said Block 16, a distance of 716.1 feet to the Northwest corner of Bi-ock 12 of said Morning View Ad- dition; Thence North along the West line of Block 13 of said Morning View Addition and the West line of Block 3 of the Gordon Bozeman Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock, Texas, to a point on the South line of Block 2 of said Gordon Bozeman Addition a distance of 902 feet more or less; Thence West along the South line extended of Block 2 of said Gor- don Bozeman Addition, a distance of 31.2 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 16 of said Block 2; Thence Northwesterly along the Northwest lines of Lots 16, 17, & 5 of said Block 2 a distance of 489.7 feet to the Northwest corner of said Lot 5; Thence Northerly a distance of 50 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 8, Block 1 of said Gordon Bozeman Addition; Thence Northwesterly across and at right angles to U. S. Highway No. 62, and along the Southwest lines of Blocks 5 and 7 of said Gordon Bozeman Addition a distance of 726.3 feet to a point 15 feet Northwest- erly of the West corner of Block 7 of said Gordon Bozeman Addition; Thence North and parallel to the West line of the Northeast J- of said Section 3, Block A a distance of 464.7 feet to a point; Thence West and parallel to the South line of said N.E. -j of Sec- tion 3, Block A, a distance of 503.2 feet to a point on the West line of said N.E. -t Section 3, Block A; Thence continuing West and parallel to the South line of the N.W. of Section 3, Block A. a distance of 900 feet to a point; Thence South and parallel to the East line of the N.W. -f of said Section 3, Block A. a distance of 1595 feet to a point 25 feet North of the South line of said N.W.-I of Section 3, Block A; Thence West parallel to and 25 feet North of the South line of said N.W. -I of Section 3, Block A, a distance of 1740 feet more or less to a point on the West line of said Section 3, Block A; Thence continuing West parallel to and 25 feet North of the North line of the S.E. 4 of Section 2, Block A. a distance of 1345 feet to a point; Thence South 40 feet to a point, said point being 400 feet North of a State Highway centerline; Thence Westerly along a curve to the left (R = 1310.08 feet, I = 330 33t) a distance of 1609.8 feet to a point of tangency, said curve being 400 feet Northerly and at right angles to said State Highway centerline; Thence Southwesterly along a tangent parallel to and 400 feet Northwesterly, measured at right angles to said State Highway center- line a distance of 2566.5 feet to a point of curvature; E Thence along a curve to the right (R"= 3419.83f, I = 220 571) a distance of 594.E feet to a point on the West line of Survey 2, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas, and being 603.8 feet more or less north of the Southwest corner of said Survey 2, Block A; Thence continuing along said curve, being 400 feet Northwesterly measured at right angles to said State Highway centerline, a distanc8 of 775.2 feet to a point of tangency; Thence Southwesterly parallel to and 1+00 feet from measured at right angles to said State Highway centerline a distance of 620 feet more or less to a point on the present City Limits line, said point being 197.4 feet more or less and N. 340 13' E. of a point of inter- section oil the existing City Limits line. Thence in a general easterly direction with the present City Limits line to the point of beginning, being 30.0 feet East and 513.4 feet South of the N.E. corner of Survey /+, Block 0. Containing .6109 square miles." BE, and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily news- paper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one (1) time and shall not be thereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed after such publication, and if finally passed in its present form, the bound- ary limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area, territory and extension described in Section 1 (One) of this ordinance.
