()-=j. -o<3 -1.9J5lf ORDINANCE NO. 1584 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF :OOSTON AVENUE FOOM 19TH STREET SOUTH A DISTANCE OF 225 FEET AND 120 FEET, RESPECTIVELY., AND THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF FLINT AVENUE FROM 191'H STREET SOUTH A DJS TAtl:E OF 225 FEET AND 120 FEET, RESPECTIVELY, AND ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDES OF INDIANA AVENUE FROM 19TH STREET SOUTH A DISTANCE OF 225 FEET AND 282 FEET, RESP:mTIVELY; AUTHORIZING THE PLACING OF UNIFORM SIGNS AND P AINTOO OF THE CURBS; PROVIDIOO A PENALTY; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF THLS CAPl'ION; AND DECLARING AN F>EOOENCY. W H E R E A S, the City Commission finds that the congestion of moving vehicular traffic on Boston Avenue, Flint Avenue and Indiana Avenue requires the elimination or parking in the area described in the caption or this ordinance and hereafter more particularly described, and further finds that such measures are necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace and safety, constituti an emergency; N 0 W, T H E R E F 0 R E, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That the parking of vehicles is prohibited at all times on the following described streets, more particularly described as follows: (1) On the East side of Boston Avenue from 19th Street South a distance of 225 feet. (2) On the West side of Boston Averue from 19th Street South a distance or 120 feet. (3) On the East aide of Flint Avenue from 19th Street South a distance of 225 feet. (4) On the West side of Flint Avenue from 19th Street South a distance of 120 feet. (5) On the East side of Indiana Avenue from 19th Street South a distance of 225 feet. (6) On the West side of Indiana Avenue from 19th Street Soutb a distance of 282 feet. SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to allow, permit or suffer any vehicle to be parked on that portion of the streets described in Section 1 (One) of this ordinance. SECTION 3. The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to paint the curbs and to place uniform signs at the l~cations described in Section 1 1 (One) consistent with the provisions of this ordinance. S~TION 4. Any person, firm, or corporation who shall violate the pro- visions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in any sum not exceeding Two Htmdred Dollars ($200). u Page 2 SECTION 5. The fact that heavy, congested traffic requires the imnediate and full use of those portions of Boston Avenue, Flint Avenue and Indiana Avenue, as more partiaular1y described in Section 1 (One) of this ordinance, constitutes an emergency requiring the suspension of all rules providing that no ordinance shall be enacted at the meeting of its introduction; and such rules are suspended to preserve the public peace and safety, and this ordinance shall be effective from and after its unanimous passage. SECTION 6. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to have the descriptive caption of this ordinance published, as provided by law. A N D I T I S S 0 0 R D E R E D.
