HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1564-1954 - Amending Zoning Ordinance 661 And The Official Zoning Map Of The City. - 05/13/1954Copy 6-3-54 to City Atty Bldg.Insp City Tax ; Office r-lan & ~one Offc os.-' a -\.954- 0RDINANCE NO. 1 56 4 05-;;;)...i -( .95 4-- AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661 A-ND THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO .MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGE: ZONING-CASE NO. 470-ZONING PATTERN NO. 25 OF THE OVERALL PATTERN OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK FOR THAT PROP- ERTY COMMONLY KNOWN AS M.~RNELS INDUSTRI&L DISTRICT, PLACING PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH AREA MORE SPECIFICALLY SET OUT IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE AND AS SHOWN BY THE PUBLISHED NOTICE FROM ITS PRESENT ZONE TO THE 11J" ZONING DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the proposed change in Zoning Districts as hereinafter made has been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Commission, and, after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the pro• posed change as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and, WHEREAS, all conditions precedent required by law for a valid amend- ment to the Zoning Ordinance and Map have been fully complied with, as well as giving all notices in compliance with Section 25 of Ordinance No. 661, as amended, as well as notices provided by Article 1011£, Revised Civil Statutes, as amended in 1953, .and notice was duly published on April 25, 1954 in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche, and the public hearing, according to said notice was held at 2:00 P.. M. on May 13, 1954 in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texa·s, at -yvhich time persons appeared in support of the proposal; and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in substantial com .. pliance with the proposal; T HERE F 0 R E, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE, and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ZONE CASE NO. 4 70 -Zoning Pattern No. 25 of the overall pattern of the City of Lubbock for that property commonly known as Marnels Industrial District, more particularly described as follows, to be changed from its present zone to the 11J 11 Zoning District: BEGINNING at a point in the West boundary lilie of the Country Club Addition, said point being 642 feet East and 606 feet North of the Southwest corner of Survey Fifteen {15), Block A, County of Lubbock, Texas, for the Southeast corner of this tract; THENCE North along West boundary line of the Cou)ltry Club Addition, a distance of 1273. 2 feet to the Northwest corner of the Country Club Addition, and continuing North in line with said boundary of Country Club Addition, a distance of 797. 7 feet to a point for the Northeast corner of this tract, in all a total of Z070. 9 feet North from the Point of Beginning; THENCE West a distance of 2158.42 feet to.a point for the Northwest corner of this tract; THENCE South a distance of 1777. 9 feet to a point for the Southwest. corner of this tract, said point being 899 feet North of the South -J P. 2 boundary line of Survey Sixteen (16}~ Block A, County of Lubbock, Texas; THENCE South 68° SO' 30" Eas! a distance of 832.. 54 feet to a point, said point being 606 feet North of the South boundary line of Survey Sixteen (16), Block A, County of Lubbock,. Texas; THENCE East a distance of 1382.. OZ. feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Fron:Land Slte.r passage and efiective date of this Ordinance. said tract above referred to shall be changed -to the· Zoning Distri~t indicated, and the Official Zoning Map is hereby a~ended in accordance herewith.
