AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OF PARKING METER
NO. 11-13-9 AND PARKING METER NO. 11-7-4• REPEA.LING CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, due to changed traffic conditions it is necessary to estab-
lish a freight-loading zone on the South side of the 1300 Block of M~dn Street,
beginning 95 feet West of Avenue Land extending West ZO feet, and a freight-
loading zone on the North side of the 700 Block of Main-Street, beginning 30
feet West of Avenue P and extending West ZZ feet, and ce1"tain parking meters
need to be removed in order that these loading .zones can be established;
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That the City Traffic Engineer BE, and he is hereby
authorized to cause due removal of Parking Meters Nos. 11-7-4 and 11-13-9.
SECTION z. That the parking meters authorized to be removed by the
provision of Section 1 (O.ne} of this Ordinance, after all moneys contained in
the meters have been duly checked and accounted for, shall be reconditioned
and re-numbered for use at other locations.
SECTION 3. That that part of the provision of any ordinance or order
in conflict with this ordinance is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditio.ns creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of
this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a
public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented
at two separate meetings be dispensed with; and this ordinance shall be
effective from the date of its passage, as provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
