ORDINANCE NO. 1560
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING LOADING ZONES (1) ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE
1:300 BUICK OF MAIN STREET, BEGINNING 95 FEET WEST OF AvmtJE"L"AND EXTENDING WEST
20 FEET; (2) ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE 700 BLOCK OF MAIN STREE'l', BEGINNING :30 FEET
WEST OF AVENUE "Ftt AND ESTENDING WEST 22 FEET; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANC ;
AUTHORIZING PAINTING OF CURBS; AND DECLARING AN EM]OOIDK:Y •
W HE REA s, in the interest of public safety, changed traffic con-
ditione, business loading and unloading requirements make imperative immediate
changes in the establishment of freight-loading zonas; N 0 W, T H E R E F 0 R E,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That Freight-Loading Zones BE, and are hereby, established
in the following locations:
A. On the South side of the 1.300 Block of ¥ain Street, beginning 95
feet west of Avenue "L" and extending west 20 feet.
B. On the North side of the 700 Block of Main Street, beginning .30
feet west of Avenue "F" and extending west 22 feet.
SECTION 2. That· that part of any ordinance or order in conflict here-
with is here by repealed.
SECTION ;. That the Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed
to cause the curbs in the above described zones to be painted and such zones
plainly marked as Loading Zones.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the publi c and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of thie
ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a public
necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate Commission meetings be dispensed with; and this ordinance shall be
effective from the date of its passage, as provided by law.
