AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION .23 OF ORDINANCE NO. 564, AS
AMENDED ~"Y ORDINANCE NO. 1414, THEREBY CHANGING PARKING
METER.Naa. ll-10-13, l1 R B, , ( II 5 A-... ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE
1000 BLOCK OF MAIN STREET, FROM ONE-NICKEL• ONE-HOUR PARKING
TO lZ•MINUTES FOR ONE .. PENNY, 24•MINUTES FOR TWO-PENNIES OR
ONE-NICKEL PARKING; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES;
PROVIDING A PENALTY; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has, as a result of changed traffic
conditions, adopted the recommendation of the City Traffic Engineer to
change certain one-.hour parking :meters to 24""1'Xlinute parking maters; NOW,
THEREFORE,
' ~ BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOC
SECTION 1. That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 5~, as amended by
Ordinance No. 1414, is hereby amended so as to change and modify the length
of time parking is permitted on the South side of the 1000 Block of Main Street,
in Parking Meter Spac~ N~. 11-10-13, S U 11, r l & &! , so as to pro ..
hibit parking for a longer continuous ~eriod than twenty-four (Z4) minutes.
-SECTION 2. That the City Traffic Engineer is hereby aathorized and
directed to install and place in operation twelve (12)-minute, one-penny,
twenty-four (24)-minute, two-penny or one-nickel parking meters at the
following locations:

SECTION 3. That that part of the prorision of any ordinance or order'.~/'
conflict with this Ordinance is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate, aid
or abet the violation of any provision of this Ordinance shall, upon convictio~
be fined in any sum. not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($ZOO).
SECTION 5. That the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publi-
cation of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with the penalty
clause, as an alternative method as provided by law.
SECTION 6. That the enactment of this Ordinance, being necessary to
the public safety and to provide for a greater use of the public streets and due
to the changing traffic conditions, is declared to be an emergency measure,
thereby creating a public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances
to be presented at two (l) separate m .eetings be dispensed with; and this
Ordinance shall be effective from the date of publication as herein provided.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
