ORDINANCE NO. 1511
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION ONE OF ORDINANCE NO. 1Z95, r-~0 AS.:I'01l'llEREBY REMOVE THE FREIGHT-LOADING ZONE ESTABLLSHED
ON T'IIE SOUTH SIDE OF THE 1100 BLOCK OF MAIN STREET, BEGINNIN"G
AT A POINT SIX (6) FEET EAST OF THE NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN
M.A.IN'STREET AND BROADWAY AND EXTENDING EAST A DISTANCE OF
ZZ FEET; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the freight-loading zone on
the South side of the 1100 Block of Main Street is no longer needed for such
purpose and it would be in the public interest to remove such freight-loading
zone, and, in the interest of the public safety, changed trafiic conditions and
loading and Unloading requirements make imperative immediate changes in the
establishment of freight-loading zones, so constituting an emergency; NOW,
T ~EREFORE.
BE IT 'ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
, lEC'i'.ION I. That Ordinance No. 1Z95 is hereby amended so as to
delete,:-&~refrom Section lB, which said Section 1B established a freight-
loading zone on the South side of the 1100 Block of Main Street, beginning
at a point six (6) feet East of the North-south alley between Main and Broadway.
SECTION z. That this ordinance does not repeal any other provision of
Ordinance No. 1Z95 es.cept Section lB, and all other provisions of Ordinance
No. 1Z95 shall remain in effect.
SECTION 3. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of
this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a
public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented
at two (Z} separate m'eetings be dispensed withJ and this ordinance shall be
effective from the date of its passage, as provided by law.
