AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2.3 OF ORDINANCE NO.,. 564, AS
AMENDED, SO AS TO ADD AND INCLUDE PARKIN'G METER SPACES NOS.
12.-11-11 AND lZ-11-13 ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE 1100 BLOCK OF
BROADWAY; AUTHORIZING THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO INST~LL A ONE ...

PARKING METER; AUTHORIZING TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO INSTALL ONE-
NICKEL, ONE-HOUR PARKING METER; MODIFYING ALL CONFLICTING
PARTS OF ORDINANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AUTHORIZING PUBLICA-
TION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that a part and portion of the
Bus· Loading Zone on the South side of the 1100 Block of Broadway being no
longer needed for ·such purposes, it would be in the public interest to re-install
parking meters in such part and portion of such Bus Loading Zone, and it is
Y .necessary for the immediate preservation-of the public safety and property so
to do, constituting an emerg-ency; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That Section 2.3 of Ordinance No. 564, as amended, is
hereby am·ended so as to add and include the East thirty-six (36) feet of the West
half of the South side of the 1100 Block of Broadway, designated as Parking
Meter Spaces Nos. 12.-11-11 and 12.-11-13, so as to prohibit parking for a
longer continuous period than twenty-four {Z4) minutes at said Parking M·eter
Space No. 12.-11-11, and so as to prohibit parking for a longer continuous
period than one (1) hour at Park:fug Mt!ter Space No. 12.•11-13,; ·
SECTION z. The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
install and place in operation:
< (a) A lZ-minute -... one penny, Z4•minute --two penny,
, .U•minute --one nickel parking meter, at Parking
Meter Space No. 12.-11-1~.
{b) A one-hour --one nickel parking meter, at Parking
M~~ter Space No. lZ•ll-13 •.
SECTION 3. That that part of any ordinance or order in conflict with the
provisions of this ordinance is hereby superseded and modified so as to con-
form and be consistent with the provisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation who shall violate, aid
or abet the violation of any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
fined in any sum not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($ZOO).
SECTION 5. That the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause the pub-
lication of the descriptive caption of this ordinance, together with the penalty
clause, as an alternative mt~thod provided by law.
SECTION 6. That the enactment of this ordinance, being necessary tQ
the public safety and property and to provide for a greater use of the public
st:r:eets, is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a public
necessity that all rules requiring the several readings of proposed ordinances
be suspended; and this ordinance shall become effective from .and after the date
of its unanimous passage on first reading.
