AN ~~DINANCE AMENDING SECTION 23, SECTION 8, SECTION 15,
AND SECTION 22 OF ORDD'lANCE NO. 56411 AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 1414, THEREBY CREATD'lG A ONE-HOUR PARKING METER ZONE,
AND AUTHORIZING THE INSTALLATION OF THE FOLLOWING NUMBERED
PARKING METERS ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE 1000 BLOCK OF 13TH
STREET, BEGINNING AT A POINT 70 FEET EAST OF AVENUE "J" AND
EXTENDING EAST A DISTANCE OF 45 FEET: M.ETERS NOS. 13-10-13,
13-10-15; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDD'iANCES; AUTHORIZD'iG
PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has adopted the recommendation of
the City Traffic Engineer in making certain changes in parldng on certain
streets in the City of Lubbock; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
t. SECTION 1. That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 564, as amended by
Ordinance No. 1414. be amended to include the following:
A. That a Parking Mt!ter Zone is hereby designated and established
in the City of Lubbock and said Parking Meter Zone shall embrace
the following section of~ street:
{1) The South side of the 1000 Block of 13th Street, beginning
at a point seventy (70) feet East of Avenue J and extending
East a distance of forty-five (4,5) feet •
. SECTION z. That the City Traffic Engineer BE and he is hereby author•
ized and directed to cause the following numbered meters. to be placed in the
Parking Meter Zone set forth in Se-c:tion 1 (One) of this Ordinance:
A. Meters Nos. 13-10-13, and 13-10-15
SECTION 3. That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended as follows;
That in the Parking M·~ter Zone set out in Section 1 (One) of
this ordinance all vehicles shall be parked with both right
wheels parallel to and within eighteen (18) inches of the curb.
SECTION 4. That Section 15 of Ordinance No. 564, as amended by
Ordinance No. 141.4. be amended so as to include the following:
The Parking Meters set out in Section 2 (Two) of this ordinance
shall be one-hour, one-nickel meters.
SECTION 5. That any provision of any ordinance or order conflicting
with this ordinance is hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. That Section 22 of Ordinance No. 564 be &m·ended as follows:
That any person. firm or corporation who shall violate any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall, upon convictiQn, be fined in
any sum. not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200).

SECTION 7. That the City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publica-·
tion of the descriptive caption of this ordinance, together with the penalty
herein provided, as an alternative method provided by law.
SECTION 8. That due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the e.nactment of
this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereby creating a pub-
lic necessity that the rule requiring ordinances to be presented at two separate
meetings be dispensed with; and this ordinance shall be effective from the date
of its passage, as provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
