AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF ALLEY
RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED IN SECTION 15, BLOCK A, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS,
WHICH IS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS
ORDINANCE; DIRECTING THE CITY ENGINEER TO MARK THE OFFICIAL MAPS
OF THE CITY TO REFLECT SAID ABANDONMENT AND CLOSING; PROVIDING A
SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the right-of-way hereinafter described in the
body of this Ordinance is no longer needed for right-of-way purposes and for public use; and
it would be in the public interest to close, vacate and abandon the same for right-of-way
purposes and for public use; NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT the right-of-way as hereinafter described shall BE and the same
is hereby closed, vacated and abandoned for right-of-way purposes and for public use, such
right-of-way being more particularly described in the attached Exhibit "A".
SECTION 2. THAT the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to mark the
official maps of the City of Lubbock to reflect said abandonment and closing, showing the
number of this Ordinance and the date of its final passage.
SECTION 3. THAT should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, clause or word
of this Ordinance be declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, the remainder of this
Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
SECTION 4. THAT the City Secretary of the City of Lubbock is hereby authorized
and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance as an alternative
method provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.

FIELD NOTES on a 0.175 acre tract out of Section 15, Block A, Lubbock County, Texas and being part of
the alley adjacent to Lots 1 and 2, Penrod Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas as
shown by the plat and dedication recorded in Volume 823, Page 62, Lubbock County Deed Records nd
being further described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING at a found 3/4" iron pipe for the most Westerly corner of Lot 2, Penrod Addition for the most
Southerly Southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N 52°57'09" W, 10.29 feet to a found 3/4" iron pipe for the most Westerly corner of the Plat
Limits of Penrod Addition and the most Westerly corner of this tract;
THENCE N 23°01'04" E, with the Westerly line of the said Plat Limits, 360.74 feet to a set 1/2" iron rod
with green cap marked RPLS 4460 for the most Northerly corner of the said Plat Limits and the most
No�therly corner of this tract;
THENCE S 52°50'37" E, with the Northeasterly line of the said Plat Limits, 407.74 feet to a found 1/2" iron
rod for the most Easterly corner of this tract;
THENCE S 41 °15'40" W, with the Northwest Right of Way line of Interstate 27, a distance of 10.03 feet to
a set 1/2" iron rod with cap for a corner of this tract;
THENCE N 52°50'37" W, with the Northeaste�ly line of Lots 1 and 2, Penrod Addition, 384.19 feet to a set
1/2" iron rod with cap for a corner of this tract;
THENCE S 75°05'14" W, with the Northerly line of Lot 2, Penrod Addition, 1229 feet to a corner of this
tract;
THENCE S 23°01'15" W, with the Westerly line of said Lot 2, a distance of 340.40 feet to the PLACE of
BEGINNING and containing 0.175 Ac�es including any Right of Way.
