HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1450-1953 - Appropriations Consistant With Budget For The Fiscal Year - 09/10/1953All Superi nte ents of the City 9-15-53. 09 -I0-[95'3 ORDINANCE NO. 1450 AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS CONSJSTENT WITH THE BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1953 AND END- ING SEPTEMBER 30, 1954; PROVIDING THAT TIMING OF EXPENDITURES FOR PROJECTS AND PURCHASES BE SUBJECT TO CONTROL OF CITY MANAGER; AND DEClARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1953 has been duly filed with the City Secretary-Treasurer and approved by the Commission, and the Commission finds it to be appropriate and necessary for the usual daily operation of all municipal departments that funds therein provi- -ded for be appropriated for the purposes indicated by said budget, which creates , an emergency requiring that this ordinance be immediately passed and effective according to its terms; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMJSSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That the funds provided for in the budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1953 and ending September 30, 1954 are hereby approp- riated for the purposes indicated by the revised budget finally adopted, approved and filed with the City Secretary -Treasurer, said expenditures to be made out of a proper allocation of the revenues of the City and/or other available funds. SECTION z. That the timing of all expenditures for each project, con- tract and purchase shall be subject to control and approval of the City Manage r, unless otherwise directed by the Commission. SECTION 3. The provisions of this ordinance shall become effective October 1, 1953. SECTION 4. The fact that this ordinance is necessary for t he usual daily operation of all municipal departments of the City of Lubbock, and the fact that its passage is immediately required for planning purposes, creates an emer- gency, requiring the suspension of all rules providing that no ordinance shall be passed on the day on which it is introduced, and this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage by unanimous vote of the Commission.
