City Atty v oe-;;;;:=r -r.95 3 ORDINANCE NO. __;;1;.;.;:;444=....-- AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A NO-PARKING ZONE ON THE WEST SIDE OF AVENUE "Ti' BEGINNING AT lOTH STREET AND EXTENDING SOUTH TO 18TH STREET; AUTHORIZING PAINTING OF CURBS AND THE ERECTION OF SIGNS! PROVIDING A PENALTY; REPEALING CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATIONi AND DEClARING AN EMER- GENCY. - WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety, changed traffic conditions creating a public hazard require a No-Parking area be established on the West side of Avenue T between Tenth and l~hStreets; NOW, THERE FORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: If. SECTION I. That a No-Parking Zone BE and it is hereby established on the following described portion of streets, and it shall hereafter be unlawful for any person operating, driving or in control of a vehicle to allow, permit or suffer such vehicle to be parked. in the portion of streets hereinafter described as constituting a No-Parking Zone. SECTION 2. That that portion of Streets referred to in Section 1 (One) of this Ordinance as a No-Parking Zone is as follows: A. On the West side of Avenue T, beginning at lOth Street and extending South to 18th Street. SECTION 3. That the Traffic Engineer is authorized and directed to paint, or cause to be painted, the curbs and to erect signs indicating a No-Parking Zone consistent with the provisions of this ordinance. SECTION 4. That any person who shall suffer or permit any vehicle operated, driven or controlled by him to be parked in the area described in Section 2 (Two) of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in any sum not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200). SECTION s. That all portions of other ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed. SECTION 6. That the City Secretary is hereby authorized to cause publi- cation of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance, together with the penalty clause, as an alternative method provided by law. SECTION 7. That the enactment of this ordinance, being necessary to the public safety and to provide for a greater use of the public streets, and due to the changed traffic conditions is declared to be an emergency measure thereby creating a public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (z) separate meetings be dispensed with, and this ordinance shall be effective from the date of publication as herein provided. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
