M v cla - I ?]-1&53 ❑ RDINAN CE NO. _ 14a 6a -- a-i - I-9 S 3 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AN AREA AND TERRITORY ABUTTING AND ADJACENT TO THE PRESENT LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, SAID AREA AND TERRITORY COMPRISING THAT PORTION OF THE MACKENZIE STATE PARK ABUTTING AIM LYING NORTH AND EAST OF THE PRESENT CITY LI14ITS AND BEING ALL OF THAT PART EAST OF THE WEST BOUNIDARY LINE AND NORTH OF THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF SECTION ONE (1), BLOCK "Alf, LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, AND WEST AND SOUTH OF A LINE GENERALLY FOLLOWING THE NORTHEAST RIM OF YELLOWHOUSE CANYON, INCLUDING A PORTION OF LAND LYING IN SECTION 77, BLOCK "A", LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, ALL AS IS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF THE CITY LIMITS AND CORPORATE BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND FINAL PASSAGE UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 3-4 ARTICLE 'I, CHAPTER ONE OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, AND EXTENDING THE CITY LINIITS TO INCLUDE, ALL OF SAID AREA DESCRIBED IN THE BODY OF THIS ORDINANCE. WHEREAS, the City Commission finds that the area and territory hereinafter described constitutes a part and portion of the MacKenzie State Park and that annexation of the entire area described in this Ordinance by metes and bounds will be in the interest of the public health, morals, safety and general welfare, and the City Commission is authorized to annex said area adjacent to and abutting the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COK,�ISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK; SECTION 1. BE, and the same is hereby annexed and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock. SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall be forthwith published in a daily newspaper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one (1) time and shall not be thereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed after such publication, and if finally passed in its present form, the boundary limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area., territory and extension described in Section 1 (One) of this Ordinance. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
