AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION Z3, SECTION 8, SECTION 15,
AND SECTION Z2 OF ORDn-.J~CE NO. 564. THEREBY CREATING A PARK ..
ING METER ZONE ON THE SOUTH SIDE~OF 14TH STREET BETWEEN AVENU
"K" AND AVENUE "L"; PROVIDING PARALLEL PARKING ON BOTH SIDES
OF MAThT STREET BETWEEN AVENUE "J" AND AVENUE "K"; AUTHORIZING
THE ThTSTALLATION OF PARKING METERS NOS. 14-12-1, 14-12-3, 14-12-5,
14-12-7, 14•12•9, 14-12-11, 14-12-13, 14-12-15, 14-12-17, AND 14-12-19;
REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING PORTIONS OF ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING
PUBLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has adopted the recommendations of
the City Traffic Engineer, making certain changes in parking on certain streets
in the City of Lubbock; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAThTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF T~ CITY. OF LUBB.OCK:
SECTION 1. That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended so as to
include the following:
A. That a Parking Meter Zone be hereby designated and established in
the City of Lubbock, and said Parking Me~er· Zone ·shall embrace
the following sections of the street:
{1) The South side of 14th Stre~t between Avenue K and Avenue ~.
SECTION 2. That the City Traffic Engineer BE, and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to cause the following numbered meters to be placed in the
location set out in Section 1, A(l) of this Ordinance~
Meters Nos. 14-12-1, 14-12-3, 14 .. 12-5, 14-12-7, 14-12-9,
14-12-11, 14-12-13, 14-12:-15, 14-12-17, and 14-12-19
SECTION 3. That Section 8 of Ordinance. No. 564 be amended as follows:
That in the following Parking Meter Zones all vehicles shall be parked
with both right wheels of the vehicles within eighteen ~18) inches of the
curb:
(1) On the South side of Main Street between Avenue J and Avenue K.
(2) On the North_side of Main, Street between Avenue J and Avenue K.
SECTION 4. That Section 15 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended so as to
include the following: ·
A. It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person, firm or corpora-
tion operating a vehicle to allow such vehicle to remain standing or
parked upon any of the following numbered meter spaces for a longer
continuous period than sixty {60) minutes at a time between the hours of
9:00A.M. and 6:00P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays:
Meters Nos. 14-12-1, 14-12-3, 14-12-5, 14-12-7, 14-12-9,
14 ... 12 .. 11, 14 .. 12-13, 14-12-15, 14-12-17, and 14 .. 12 .. 19.
SECTION 5. That any provision of any Ordinance or order conflicting
with this Ordinance is hereby repealed.

SECTION 6. The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication
of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance, together with the penalty herein
provided as an alternative provided by law.
SECTION 7. That Section 22 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended as follows;
That any person, firm, or corporation who shall violate any of the provi-
sions a£ this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in any sum not to
exceed Two Hundred Dollars ($200).
SECTION 8. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of
this Ordinance is declared to be an ~mergency measure, thereby creating a
public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented
at two (2) separate meetings be dispensed with, and this Ordinance shall be
effective from the date of its passage, as provided by law.
