ORDINANCE NO. 1364 _;;..,._.._. ___ _
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE REMOVAL OF CERTAIN PARKING
METERS; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND DECLARING
AN EM ERG E NG Y.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has passed an ordinance establishing
parking meter zones and authorizing the placing of parking meters in that
area, and it is now necessary to remove said parking meters to provide a
greater use of the public streets i NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITf' OF LUBBOCK:
:3 SECTION 1. That the Traffic Engineer BE, and he is hereby authorized
and directed to cause due removal of the following numbered parking meters:
Meters Nos. !J-&fl3, 14-10-~.z, 14-10-24, 14-10-26, 14-10-28,
14-10-30, 14-10-32, 14-10-34, 14-10-36., 14-10-17, 14-10-27,
14-10~29, 14-10-31, 14-10-33, 1L-12-21, 11-12-23, 11-12-25,
11-12-27, and 11-12:.29. ·
SECTION 2. That the parking meters authorized to be removed by the
provision of Section 1 {One) of this ordinance , after all money contained in the
meters has been duly checked and accounted for, shall be reconditioned and
renumbered for use at other locations.
SECTION 3. That part of the provision of any ordinance or order in con-
flict with this ordinance is hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of
this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a
public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented
at two (2) separate Commission meetings be dispensed with, and this ordinance
shall be effective from the date of its passage, as provided by law.
