HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1352-1953 - Repealed By Ordinance 4656 - 03/26/1953Cony . -1-53 .o Nnn ~ndrews &. ;hief of Police 0 c 1352 Repealed by Ordinance No. 4656 -03-2LP-J.SiJS3 j .ORDINANCE NO. 1352 • AN ORDINANCE AME!NDING SECTION 23, SECTION 8, SlroTION 22 AND SECTION ]5 OF ORDINANCE NO. ;64, THEREBY CREATING CERTAIN ONE-HOUR PARALLEL PARKING METER ZONES; AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF CERTAIN PARKING M&TERS; REPEALING ALL CONFLICT- ING ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION; AND DIDLARING AN EMERGENCY • WHEREAS, the City Commission has adopted the recommendation of the City Traffic Engineer in making certain changes in the parking on certain streets in the City of Lubbock; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOOK: SECTION 1. That Section 2.3 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended so as to include the following: A. That parking meter zones are hereby designated and established in the City of Lubbock and said parking meter zones shall embrace the following section of streets: (1.) The South side of 15th Street between Avenue J and Avenue K. ~ (2.) The North side of 15th Street between Avenue J and Avenue K. (.3.) The East side of Avenue K between Main Street and the alley North of Main Street. (4.) The South side of Main Street between A~enue L and Avenue M. SECTION 2. That the City Traffic Englneer BE, and he is hereby authorized and directed to cause the following numbered meters to be placed in the locations set out in Section l,A{l) and those meter numbers are: Meters Nos.l~ll-1 15-11-.3, 15-11-5, 15-11-7' 15-11-9, 15-11-11, 15-11-1.3, 15-11-15, 15-11-17, lS*--11-J.: , and 1~11-21. TdL'&use the following numbered meters to be placed in the locations set out in Section l,A(2)s M3ters Nos. 15-11-2, 15-11-41 15-U-6, 15-11-8, 15-11-10, 15-11-121 15-11-14, 15-11-16 and 15-11-18. To cause the .following nmnbered meters to be placed in the locations set out in Section l,A(.3): Meters Nos. K-1();1.11, K-10:..1.3 1 K-10..15, K-10..17, K-10...19, and K-10..21. To cause the following numbered meters to be placed in the locations set out in Section l,A(4h Meters Nos. 11-1.3-1, 11-1.3-.3, 11-1.3-5, 11-13.,7, 11-1.3-9 11-1.3-11, 11-13-1.3, 11-1.3-15, 11-1.3-17, 11-13-19 and 11-13-21. SECTION 3. That Section 8 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended as .followss That in the following pa:rking meter zones all vehicles shall be parked with both right wheels ot the vehicle within Eighteen Inches (18") of the curb: -1- (1) The South side of 15th Street between Avenue J and Avenue K •. (2) The North side of 15th Street between Avenue J and Avenue K. (.3) The East side of Avenue K between Main Street and the alley North of Main Street. (4) The South side of Main Street between Avenue L and Avenue M. (5) The North side of 15th Street between Texas Avenue and the alley West of Texas Avenue. SECTION 4. That Section 15 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended so as to include the following: That it shall be unlawful and an offense for any person, firm or dorporation opel'flting a vehicle to remain standing or parked upon aey of the stree designated in Section 3 of this Ordinance for a longer continuous period than Sixty (60) minutes at a time between the hours of 9100 A.M and 6:00 P.M. or any day except Sundays and holidays. SECTION 5. That any provision or aey Ordinance or Order conflicting with this Ordinance is hereby repealed. SEdTION 6,. The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance, together with the penalty herein provided as an alternative as provided by law. SECTION 7. That Section 22 of Ordinance No. 564 be amended so as to include the following: That aey person, firm or corporation who shall violate any or the provisions or this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in aey sum not to exceed $200.00. SECTION 8. That the enactment of this Ordinance, being necessary to the public safety and to provide a greater use of the public streets, is declared to be an emergency measut"e, thereti)':· creating a public necessity that the rule t"equiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate conmission meetings be dispensed with and this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of publication as herein provided. AND IT IS 00 ORDERED.
