ORDINANCE NO. 1343
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A FREIGHT LOADING ZONE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF
THE 900 BLOOK OF NINTH STREET, BEGINNING AT A POINT FIFTEEN (l5) FEET EAST OF TEXAS
AVENUE AND EXTENDING EAST A DISTANCE OF TWENTY {20) FEET; REPEALING ALL CONFilX:TING
ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING PAINTING OF CURBS; AND DIDLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, in the interest of public safety, changed trattic conditions,
business loading and unloading requirements making imperative immediate changes
in the establishment of freight loading zones; THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCKs
SECTION 1. That a freight loading zona is hereby established at the
following locationt;
On the North side of the 900 Block of Ninth Street, beginning
at a point fifteen feet (15') East of Texas Avenue and extend-
ing east a distance of twenty feet (20').
SECTION 2. That part of any Ordinance or Order in conflict herewith
is here by repealed.
SECTION 3. That the Traffic Engineer is hareb,y authorized and
directed to cause the curb in the above described zone to be painted and such
zone plainly marked as a loading zona.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the public's use of the street, the enactment of
this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereby creating a publio
necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate meetings be dispensed with, and this Ordinance shall be effective from
the date of its passage as provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
