That Section 23 of Ordinance 594 be amended as followss A. A parking meter zone is hereby' designated and established in the City of Lubbock. Said parking mater zone shall embrace that part of the street hereinafter designateQ, which shall limit the time of parking as follows, to-wita .. (1) 24-Minute Parking Zone-Parallel Parking-On the ·South side of Tenth (loth) Street between Texas Avenue and the alley East of Texas A~nue. (2} Orie-Hour Parking-Parallel Parking-On the East and W~st side of the 1400 Block of Avepue K. SIOOTION 2. That the City Traffic Engineer be, and he is hereby au't:.horized and directed to cause the followillg numbered parking meters to be changed from one-nickel, one-hour parking to one-penn;y, 12-.minute; two-pennies or one-nickel, 24-minute parking: ,M:)ters Nos. 10...9-15, 10...9-17, 10-9--19, 10-9-21 and 10-9-23. SIOOTION 3. That the City Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to cause Parking Meters Nos. K-14-1, K-14-2, K-14-3, K-J.4...4, K-14-5, K-14-6, K-J.4...7, K-1.4-8, K-J.4.-9, K-14-10, K-14-11, K-J.4...12, K-14-13, K-14-14, K-1~15, K-14-16, K-14-17, K-14-18, K-14-19 and K-14-20 to be placed on tha.t portio of the street designated in Section l-A(2), said parking meters designating the kind of parking provided on that part of 'the street designated in Section l-A(2).of this Ordinance, and the City 'l;'raffic Engineer is further authorized and directed to cause lines indicating the kind of parking provided therein to be place~ on that portion of the street. SECTION 4. That part of any provision of any ordinance or order conflic%i with this Ordinance is hereby repealed. SECTION 5. The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with the penalty herein pro- vided as an alternative as provided by la.w. SIOOTION 6. A:I:Jy person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in any sum not to ~ . exceed $200.00. SECTION 7. That the enactment of this Ordinance, being necessary to the public safety and to provide for a greater use of the public streets, is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a public necessity that the rule -1- c requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate meetings be dispensed with and this Ordinance shall be efBective from date ot publication as herein provided. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
