ORDINANCE NO. 1324
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661 AND THE
OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE
FOLLOWING CHANGES: (1) ZONING·CASE #397 -BOUNDED ON THE
EAST BY ~EMPHJS AVENUE~ ON THE NORTH BY 19TH STREET. ON THE
NORTHWEST BY BROWNFIELD HIGHWAY11 ON THE WEST BY QUAKER
AVENUE• AND ON THE SOUTH BY A LINE EXTENDING THROUGH THE
CENTER LINE OF THE ALLEYS BETWEEN ZZD AND Z3D STRE~TS: (A)
CHANGE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY FROM ITS PRESENT
ZONING TO THE "Bu TWO-FAMILY DISTRICT: BEGINNING AT A POINT
IN THE CENTER LINE OF MEMPHIS AVENUE AND THE CENTER LINE
PROJECTED OF THE ALLEY IN THE HORD-BUCHANAN SUBDIVISION;
THENCE WEST TO THE CENTER' LINE OF QUAKER AVE,NUE; THENCE
NORTH 35.57 FEET ALONG THE CENTER LINE OF QUAKER AVENUE TO

WHEREAS, the proposed changesin Zoning Districts as hereinafter made
have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recom-
mendatio~ whicll!: r•c<.mmend&.~.wa·s.'f·rec;ei~ed l;>y the City Commission, and,
after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the proposed
changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest; and,
WHEREAS, all notices have been given in compliance with Section 25 of
Ordinance No. 661, as well as notices provided by Article 1011£$ Revised

Civil Statutes, as amended. and notice was duly published on December 14, 15~
and 16, 195Z in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche,, and the pu'Qlic bearing, accord
ing to said notice, was held at Z:OO P. M. on January 8, 1953·in t'Qe City Com-
mission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which
time persons appeared in support of the propoeal a.nd several persons appeared
in person to p~otest against the recommen~ed change in zoning wi.th respect to
property in Bl~cks Ten (10) and Eleven (1.~), Roles A c;res, which previously
had been placed in their present classification upon application of the owners
and after due n~tices had been given as provided 'tly law; and the ~ommission
finds that the classification of substantially all a£ said pro,perty referred to by
the protesta.nts should not be changed and should be deleted bom the recom-
mended change, and after said hearing it was by tb:e City Commission deter-
mined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions,
EXCEPT as to Blocks Ten {lQ) and Eleven (11),, Roles Acres, that the Zoning
Ordinance and the Zeni·ng Map be axn-ended in sqbstantlal\compliance with the
recommendationJ THEREFORE.
B.E IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That OrdinaJ;lce No. 661 and the Officiatl Zoning Map BE,
and the same are hereby amended as foll~ws, to-wit:

From and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance said
tracts above refer;red to shall be changed to the Zoning Districts indicated and
the Official Zoning ~ap is herepy amended in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
