OR~rNA~~E 1~6.~1321 01 ~ 22 .. f .9 5'3 _____ _ -AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING ALL THAT PART OF THE SLATON HIGHWAY CURVE LYING BETWEEN THE EAST LINE OF AVENUE 11H11 AND THE NORTH LINE OF THE NEW 34TH STREET RIGHT- OF-WAY AS DESCRIBED IN THE FIELD NOTES .IN VOLUME 486~ PAGE 607, DEED RECORDS OF LUBBOCK COUNTY, TEXAS, EXCEPTING, HOWEVER, THAT PORTION OF AVENUE "G" LYING NORTH OF SAID 34TH STREET. \ WHEREAS,. the City Commission of the City of Lubbock finds that in the course of relocating 34th Street east of Avenue H in the City of Lubbock~ a part of the existing Slaton Highway Right-of-Way is not needed for street or any other public purpose and is not now being used for any such purpose, and that it would be in the public interest if same be abandoned and closed, THEREFORE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUB:SOCK: SECTION 1. · That part of the Slaton Highway {designated as u.s. Highway No. 84) lying east of Avenue Hand north of the newly-located north boundary line of 34th Street is hereby abandoned and closed, said portion being more particularly described as follows, to-wit: BElNG all of that part of the Slaton Highway Easement situated in the Southwest part of the Southeast Quarter (SE/4) of Section Seven (7), Block B, Lubbock County, Texas, lying' east of the East line of the Avenue H right-of-way and north of the north line of the New 34th Street right-of-way as said right-of-way is described in the field notes of record in Yolume 486,--page 607, Deed Records of Lubbock CoWlty, Texas, to which refer- ence is here made; SAVE AND EXCEPT, however, the Avenue G fifty (50)-foot right-of-way running north and south through sa.id.property. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
