AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A FREIGHT LOADING ZONE ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE 1000 BLOCK OF AVENUE "Q", BEGINNING AT A POINT 120 FEET NORTH OF MAIN STREET AND EXTENDING SOUTH A DISTANCE OF TWELVE (12) FEET; AUTHORIZING PAINTING OF CURBS; REPEALING ALL CONF!..ICTING ORDINANCES; ANl> DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. ' . ~ ( ·WHEREAs, in the interest of public safety, changed traffic conditions, business loading and unloading requirements making imperative immediate changes in the establishment of freight loading zones; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That a freight loading zone be, and the same is hereb,y established at the following location: _. On the West side of the 1000 Block of Avenue Q, beginning at a point 120 feet North of Main Street and extending South a distance of Twelve (12) feet. SECTION 2. That part of any Ordinance or Order in conflict herewith is hereby repealed. SECTION 3. That the Traffic Engineer is hereb,y authorized and directed to cause the curb in the above described zone to be painted and suan zone plainly marked as a loading zone~ i SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard injurious to the public and the publicts use of the street, the enactment of this Ordinance is declared to be an emergenoy measure thereby creating a public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate meetings be dispensed with, and this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of its passage as provided b.y law.
