HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1312-1952 - Establishing A Loading Zone On S Side Of 19Th St. - 12/11/1952c t 2-li·I.95Z, ORDILANCE NO .___.1;;.:;3=12....,· ---:- AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LOADING ZONE ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF NINETEENTH (19th) STREET IN THE 2100 BLOCK, BEGINNING SO FEET EAST OF AVENUE 11V" AND EXTENDING EAST A DISTANCE OF 20 FEET; AUTHORIZING ImiNTING OF CURBS; REPEAL- ING ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. vlliEREAS, in the interest of public safety, changed traffic condition~, business loading and unloading requirements making imperative Uffinediate changes in the establishment of freight loading zones; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That a freight loading zone be, and the same is hereby established at the following location~ On the South side of the 2100 Block of Nineteenth (19th) Street, beginning 80 feet East of Avenue V and extending East a distance of 20 feet. SECTION 2. That part of any 0rdinan¢e or Order in conflict herewith is hereby repealed. SECTION J. That the Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to cause the ~urb in the above described zone to be painted and ouoh zone plainly marked as a loading zone. SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard injurious to the public and the public's use of the street, the enactment of this Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereqy creating a public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate meetings be dispensed l-Ti th, and this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of its passage as provided b.y law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
