AND SOUTH SIDES OF. ERSKINE STREET BEI'HEEN COIUGE AVENUE AND UNITED STATES HIGHWAY
NO. 87, COJ'.M)NLY KNOWN AS THE AMARILLO HIGHWAY; PROVIDING FOR SETBACKS ACCORDING
TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661; PROVID~ THAT NO BUILDING OR OTHER STRUCTURE SHALL
BE REPAIRED OR PLACED BErWEEN THE Btift.DING LINES EXCEPTING PUBLIC UTILITI&S ON
PUBLIC PROPERTY BEI'v1EEN BUILDING LINES; REQUIRING THAT STRUCTURES CONFORM TO SUOI{
BUILDING LINES AND SEI'BACK PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 661, AS AMENDED, WITHIN
FIVE (5) YEARS; DEFDHNG BUILDING LlNE;AND AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION OF ~ CAPTION
OF THIS ORDTIUNCE.
~ffiEREAS, the Governing Body finds that the public convenience and safety
in the City of Lubbock require that building lines or right-of-way lines be
established on the street known as Erskine Street, between College Avenue and
United States Highway No. 87 so as ultimately a street required in the publ!Q
interest to open, extend, \-Iiden and otherwise improve the same, will be sec'ured,
and the present width at the location mentioned is inadequate to meet requirements
for street purposes; and the Governing Body further finds that the establisW.nt
of such lines at this time will promote econollzy' in the extension and l-ridening of
such streets; THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAlNED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCKt
SECTION 1. That public necessity, 9onvenience and safety in the City
of Lubbock require the extens!on, opening1 widening, construction and improvement
of that part of the street heretnafter designated within the building lines herein
established. ·
SECTION 2. A building or right-of-way line is hereby established on
that part of the street or land on the north and south sides of Erskine Street
bet\o~aen College Avenue and United States High\·ray No. 87, as follows:
NORTH SIDE: BEGINNING at a point 50 feet North of the Southwest
Corner or Survey 16, Block "A", lubbock County, Texas;

line of $aid Survey 161 Block "Att }for 4,000 feet, more or less, to
a pnint, said point being 1280.57 feet "lest and 50 feet North of
the Sou1;heast Oorner of said Surve;r. 16, Block "Au; .~-THENCE South 86° 53' East 801.~ feet, more or less, to a point,
said point being 480.57 feet West and 6.4 feet North of the
Southeast Corner €$ said Survey 16, Block "An;
THENCE North 88° Olf East 1400.68 feet, more or less, to a point,
said point being 6200 feet East and 50 feet North of the Southwest
Corner of Survey 16, Block "A", this point being approximately
2~.6 feet West and 20 feet North of the Southeast Corner of Lot 18,
Block 21, Country Club Addition to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock
County, Texas;
THENCE East parallel with and 50 feet distance North of the South
line of Survey 15, Block 11Au, Lubbock County, Texas for 1349.2 feat,
more or less, to a point in the West right-of-way line of the
Amarillo High\.ray or U. S. Highway No. 87.
SOUTH SIDE: BEGINNING at a point 5,0 feet South of the Northwest
Corner of Survey 19, Block ttAtt;

THENCE East parallel with and 50 feat distance South of the
North line of said Survey 19, Block "A", for 4000 feet) more or
less, to a point, said point baing 1280.57 feet West and 50 feet
South of the Northeast Corner of said Survey 19, Block nA";
THENCE South 86° 53t East 801.2 feet, more or less, to a point,
said point being 480.57 feat West and 93.6 feet South of the
Northeast Corner of said Survey 19, Block "A";
THENCE North 88° 01' East 1400.68 feet, more or less, to a point,
said point being 6200 feet East and 50 feet South of the North-
west Comer of said Survey 19, Block ttAtt;
THENCE East parallel with and 50 feet distance South of the
North line of Survey 80, Biock "Atl, lubbock County, Texas for
1372 feet, more or less, to a point in the West right-of-way line
of the Amarillo Highway or U. s. Highway No. 87.
SECTION 3. The term ltbuilding line" as used herein shall be construed
to mean nstreat -right-of-way line, tt and the setback requirements under Zoning
Ordinance No. 661 shall apply in addition to the right-of-way lines, or building
lines, herein established, it being the intent and purpose of this Ordinance to
preserve all land within the building lines herein established for ultimata street
purposes.
SECTION 4. That no building or other structure shall be erected, re-
erected, or substantially repaired, and no new structures or parts thereof shall
be erected or re-erected on that part of the street or land herein designated
within said lines herein established.
: ) SECTION 5. That all structures nol-t extending or being located within or
between said building lines herein establishe&are hereby required to conform to
the lines herein established within five {5) years from the affective date of this
Ordinance.
SECTION 6. That the provisions of this Ordinance prohibiting the placing
,()f a4aructures oot\oleen the building lines herein established shall not apply to
any officer, agent, employee or other person duly authorized b,y the City of Lubbock
when such work relates to utility extension~ or street improvements, PROVIDED
this provision shall not be·oonstru~d as autho~izing any such persons to enter upon
private property lying betweefi suoh linea unti1 the same has been dedicated to
public use or otherwise acquired fo~ such purpose.
SECTION 7. The City Sacrstar,y is hereb,y directed to cause publication
of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance.
