BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COJ.vlMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: .4 ,.. SECTION 1. That e. NO-Parking Zone be, and is hereby-established on the J~ follovring described portion of ~3rd Street and it shall be, and is hereby unlawful ~ ,;r;r -for any person operating, driving or in control of a vehicle to allow, permit ~ or suffer such vehicle be parked in the portion of the Street hereinafter dasoaibed ~ as constituting a No-Parking Zone. ilw;" ~1: ~12_ c SECTION 2. That portion of the Street referred to in Section 1 (One) of this Ordinance is as follows: The North side of 23rd Street between Avenue ttGtt and Texas Avenue. SECTION 3. The Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to paint the curbs and erect signs indicating a No-Parking Zone consistent with the provisionsof this Ordinance. SECTION 4. Any pe rson who s~ll permit or suffer any vehicle operated, driven pr controlled by him to be parked in the area described in Section 2 (Two) of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined i n any sum not exceeding Two Hundred and N0/100 ($200.00) Dollars. SECTION 5. That portion of other ordinances in conflict with the pro- visions of this Ordinance is hereby repealed. SECTION 6. The City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together vrith penalty clause as an alternative method provided by law. SECTION 7. That due to the changing .traffic conditions creating a hazard injurious to the public in the publi c's use of the Street, the enactment of this Ordinance is declared to be an emergen~ measure, thereby creating a public necessity that t he rule requiring proposed ordin8nceato be presented at two (2) separate meetings be dispensed with, and this Ordinance shall be effective from the date of publication as herein provided. AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
