ORDINANCE NO. 1295
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING FREIGHT LOADING ZONES ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE
1.300 BLOCK OF AV»mE IIG", BOOJNNING AT A POINT 60 FEET SOUTH OF THE SOUTH PROPERI'Y
LINE OF 13TH STREET AND EXTENDING SOUTH A DISTANCE OF .30 F.EEr; ON THE SOUTH SIDE
OF THE 1100 BLOCK MAIN STREET, BEGINNING AT A POM SIX (6) FEET EAST OF THE
NORTH-SOUTH ALLEY BETWEEN MAIN AND BROADWAY AND EXTENDING EAST A DISTANCE OF # FEE ,
ON THE NORl'H SIDE OF THE 800 BWCK OF 13TH STREET, STARriNG AT A POINT 21 FEET EAST
OF THE NORI'H-SOUTH ALLEr BErWEEN EIGHTH STREET AND NINTH STREET AND EXTF.NDDTG .t.WT
A DISTANCE OF 24 FEET; ON THE WEST SIDE OF THEll.OO BLOCK OF AVENUE "W', Bffi.INNING
AT A POINT 2.3 FEET SOUTH OF THE EAST-WEST AlLEY BETWEEN MAIN AND BROADWAY AND
EXTENDING SOUTH A DISTANCE OF .30 FEEr; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREW
AUTHORIZING PAINTING OF CURBS; AND DECLARING AN EMERG:FlJCY.
WHEREAS, in the interest of the public safety, changed traffic conditions
and business loading and unloading requirements make imperative immediate changes
in the establishment of freight loading zones; THEREFORE,
BE TI' ORDAINED BY THE CTI'Y CONMISSION OF THE CTI'Y OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That freight loading zones be, and the same are hereqy
established at the following locations:
A. On the west side of the 1.300 Block of Avenue "G", beginning
at a point sixty (60) feet south of the south property line
of 13th Street and extending south a distance of .30 feet.
B. On the south side of the llOO Block Main Street, beginning
at a point six (6) feet east of the north-south all9J.. betveen
Main and Broadway and extending east a diatano~ 4f '1 feet.
c. On the north side of the 800 block of U'Ql Street, ·starting at
a point twenty-one (21) feet east of the north-south alle.y
between Eighth Street and Ninth Street and extending east a
distance of twenty-four (24) feet.
D. On the west side of thellOO Block of Avenue "M", beginning at
a point twenty-three (23) feet south of the east-westlflley
between Main and Broadway and extending south a distance of
thirty (.30) feet.
SECTION 2. That part of any ordinance or order in conflict herewith
is hereby repealed.
SECTION .3. That the Traffic Engineer is hereqy authorized and directed
to cause the curbs in the above described zones to be painted and s~ch zones plain
marked as loading zones.
SECTION 4. Due to the changing traffic donditions creating a hazard inju -
ious to the public and the public's use of the streets, the enactment of this
Ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure thereb,y creating a public
necessi ty that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2)
separate meetings be dispensed with and this Ordinance shall be effective from
the date of its passage as provided by law.
