AN ORDINANCE .AMENDmG SECTION 23 OF ORDINANCE NO. 564 AND SECTIONS
2A AND 2B OF ORDlNANCE NO. 1064, THEREBY CHANGING CERTAIN PARKDW METERS NOS. I-1.3-9
I-13-ll, I-13-1.3, I-13-15, FROM ONE-HOUR PARKING TO TWENTY-FOUR-MINUTE PARKING;
PROVIDlNG A Pl!NALTY; m'EALlNG ALL CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING PUBLICATION;
AND DIDLARING AN EMERGlll'WY.
WHEREAS, the City Commission has adopted recommendation of the City
Traff'ic Engineer in changing certain parking meters from One-hour parking to
Twenty-Four-minute parking; and,
WHEREAS, the City Commission has passed certain ordinances designating
those meters as One-hour Meters and the need exists to facilitate the publicds
use of the streets to change such One-hour Parking Meters to Twenty-Four-minute
Parking Meters; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAJNED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCKt
SlOOTION 1. That Section 2.3 of Ordinance No. 564 and Sections 2A and 2B
of Ordinance No. liX>4 be amended as follows:
Twent;y-Four-millute Parking Zone, Parallel Parking--on the
East side of the 1.300 mock of Texas Avenue.
SlOOTION 2. That the City Traffic Engineer b61 and he is hereby
authorized and directSfl to cause the .following numbered parking meters to be
changed from C>ne-niclUe, One-hour Parking to One-paney, Twelve-minute; Two-pennies
or One-niclle, Twenty-Four-minute Parkinga I-13-9, I-13-ll, I-13-1.3 and I-13-15.
S~ION ,3. That part of any provision of any ordinance or order con-
flicting with this Ordinance is hereb,y repealed.
SOOTION 4. The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication
of the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with the penalty herein
provided as an alternative as provided by law.
SECTION 5. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of
the provisions of this Ordinance shall upon conviction be :fined in any sum not to
exceed·$200.
S~TION 6. That the enactment of this Ordinance, being necessary to the
public safety and to provide for a greater use of the public streets, is declared
to be an emergency measure, thereby creating a public necessity that the rule re-
quiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate meetings be
dispensed with and this Ordinance shall be ef.fective from date of publication as
herein provided.
