ORDUUNCE NO. 1287
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING FARKING ON THE EAST SIDE OF COLLEXAE AVENUE
BFXiiNNING AT THE EAST-WEST ALLEY BF:l'\o~Em NlNTH (9th) AND TENTH (lOth) STREETS
AND EXTENDING NORTH TO THE SOUTH CURB LINE OF NlNTH (9th) STREEI'; Rm>EALING ALL
ORDINAtlC.ES IN CONFLICT H.F.:R&llTH; AUTHORIZING PAINTJNG OF CURBS; PROVIDING FOR
PWALTY; AND D:EnLARING AN EMERGWCY.
WHEREAS, changing traffic conditions have made imperative that parking
in the .following d~soribed area be prohibited so that the public may have f'ull
and increased use of the public streets; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
S:OOTION 1. It shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to suffer, allow or permit the parking of any vehicle at ~ time
at the following location:
On .the East side of College Avenue beginning at the East-
West alley between Ninth (9th) and Tenth (lOth) Streets
and extending north to the south curb line of Ninth (9th)
Street.
S~TION 2. The provisions of any ordinan~ in confli!9t herawith are
hereby modified and repealed in so far as they affect that part of the herein
designated street.
SECTION 3. The Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to
pla~ mark the above designated area as a No-Parking Zone.
SECTION 4. Ally person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of
the provisionsof this Ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in any sum not
exceeding Two Hundred and No/100 ($200.00) Dollars. .
SECTION 5. Due to the changing traffic conditions creating a hazard
injurious to the public and the publicrs use of this street, the enactment is
declared to be an emergeney measure thereb,y creating a publioJnecessity that the
rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at two (2) separate 1!J8etings
be dispensed with and this ordinance shall be effective from the date of its
passage as provided by law.
