(Jy) ~·r vt ~--i c ,.,. 1236 Repealed by Ordinance No. 4656 AN ORDINANCE A!'IIENDING SECTION 23 OF ORDINANCE 564; ESTABLISHING A TWENTY-FOUR (24) -MINUTE PARKING METER ZONE, AUTHORIZING INSTALLATION OF PARKING METERS ON THE EAST SIDE OF AVENUE K BEGINNING AT TENTH (loth) STREET AND EXTENDING SOUTH TO THE ALLEY BETWEEN TENTH AND MAIN STREET; REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING ORDil~ANCES; PROVIDING A PENALTY; AND DECLARING AN ErllERGENCY. WHEREAS, the City Commission has, as result of changing traffic conditions, adopted the recommendation of the City Traffic Engineer to establish a parking meter zone on the East side of Avenue K beginning at Tenth (lOth) Street and ex-tending to the alley between Tenth (lOth) and Main Streets; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CI'rY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:._ SECTION 1. That Section 23 of Ordinance No. 564 is hereby amended so as to chango and modify the parking on the streets hereinafter referred to with the fol-lowing provisions: A. A parking meter zone is hereby designated and established in the City of Lubbock, Texas; said parking meter zone shall embrace that , part of the streets hereinafter designated which shall limit the time of parking as follows, to-wi ta · (1). TWENTY-FOUR (24) MINUTE PAHKINGt-PARALLEL PARKING: The East side of Avenue K beginning at Tenth (lOth) Street and extending South to the alley between Tenth (lOth) and Main Streets. SECTION 2. The City Traffic Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to place parldl'lg meters Nos. K .. l0-01, K-10-03, K•l0-05, K-10-07, and K•l0-09 on that portion of the street designated in Section 1 (one) of this Ordinance, said parking meters designating the kind or parking provided on that part of the street desig-nated in Section :1. (one) of this Ordinance, and the City Traffic Engineer is f"urthe authorized and directed to place lines indicating the kind of parking provided the in. SECTION 3. That aizy" part of the provision of any ordinance or order in con .. tlict with this ordinance is hereby repealed. SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate, aid or abet the violation of a~ provision of this ordinance shall upon conviction be fined in a~ sum not to exceed Two Hundred and N0/100 ($200.00) Dollars. SECTION 5. The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this ordinance together with the penalty clause as an alternative method as provided by law. SECTION 6. That the enactment of this ordinance being necessary to the ublic safety aDd to provide for a greater use of the public streets and due to the ch~ traffic conditions, is declared to be an emergency measure, thereby creating public necessity that the rule requiring proposed ordinances to be presented at ,wo (2) separate meetings .be dispensed with and this Ordinance Shall be effective rom the date of publication as herein provided.
