AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONIN'G ORDINANCE NO. 661 AND THE
OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF . THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO CHANGE
THE ZONING IN ZONING CASE NO. 343, WHICH IS AN AREA BOUNDED BY
AVENUE "A" ON THE WEST, QUIRT AVENUE ON THE EAST. 38TH STREET
ON THE SOUTH, AND THE FORT WORTH AND DENVER RAILROAD ON THE
NORTH; AND ALSO TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES: ZONING CASE
1#365 -CHANGE ALL OF LOTS 11 THROUGH 20, BLOCK 60, ORIGINAL
TOWN, FROM AN "E11 DISTRICT TO A 11K11 DISTRICT (LOCATED AT 7TH
STREET AND AVENUE D); ZONING CASE 1#367-CHANGE THAT PART OF
BLOCK 82,. ROBERTS AND McWHORTER ADDITION, LYING SOUTH OF THE
CLOVIS ROAD FROM AN 11A 11 DISTRICT TO AN 11H 11 DISTRICT {LOCATED AT
CLOVIS ROAD, WACO AVENUE AND BAYLOR STREET).
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in Zoning District& as hereinafter
made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its
recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Commission.,
and. after due consideration, the City Commission finds that making the pro-
posed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest, and,
WHEREAS, all notices have been given in compliance with Section 25 of
Ordinance No. 661, as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Revised Civil
Statutes, as amended, and notice was duly published on March 23, 24, and 25,
1952 in the Lubbock Morning Avalanche., and the public hearing, according to
said notice, was held at 2:00 :p.M. on April 10, 1952 in the City Commission
Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time per-
sons appeared in support of and in opposition to some of the proposals and,
after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be
in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance
and the Zoning Map be amended in substantial compliance with the proposals,
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE,
and the same are hereby amended as follows, to-wit:
(1) Zoning Case 1343:
1. The following described property be changed from its present
zoning to an "H11 District:
BEGINNING at the Southwest corner of Lot Ten {10), Block
Ten {10), Berry Addition Annex; Thence North along the
east right-of-way line of Avenu.e A 3, 440 feet to the north
right-of-way line of the Fort Worth &: Denver Railroad;
Thence East 165 feet along the right-of-way line of the Fort
Worth &: Denver Railroad; Thence South and parallel at 150

Road from an "A" District to an "H" District {located at Clovis
Road, Waco Avenue and Baylor Street).
From and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said tracts
above referred to shall be changed to the Zoning Districts indicated and the
Official Zoning Map is hereby amended in accordance herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
On motion of Commissioner Carpenter , seconded by Commis-
sioner Davis , the foregoing Ordinance was passed on first
reading this iotll day of April, 1952, by the following vote of the City Commis-
sion:
Commissioners voting "YEA": Morris, Carpenter, Davis, Thomas and
Mayor Tripp
Commissioners voting "NAY": None .
On motion of Commissioner Morris • seconded by Commis-
sioner Carpenter , the foregoing Ordinance was passed on second

The City Commission will hold a public hearing on April 10, 1952 at 2:00 o 1 clock
P. M. in the City Commission room on the first floor of the City Hall in Lupbock
to consider the recommendations of the Zoning and Planning Commission to deter-
mine the advisability of adopting its proposal; and at which time and place all
interested persons will be given an opportunity to protest against the proposed
amendment or make recommendations in support. thereof.
After said hearingJ the City Coumission will determine whether the Zoning Ordi-
nance will be amended in accordance with such recommendation.
