H-12, -Q2J_:Qh -o6, ..08, -10 IN SAID ZONEJ PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; AND DECLARING AN El.Vll!d1lil'.iJ.IICr WHEREAS, the City Commission he1~tofore passed Ordinance No. 1180, designat- ing and establlshi~ a passenger-loading zone on the west aide of Avenue H be• tween Broadway and the first alley south of Broadway tor the purpose of providing an area to facilitate orr-street facilities in the interest of public necessity and convenience, and, WHEREAS, the need for said passenger-loading zone no longer exists, NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK& SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 1180, establishing and designating the west side of Avenue H between Broadway and the first alley south of Broadway as a passenger- loading zone, is hereby repealed by the provisions of this ordinance. SECTION 2. Section 23 of Parking Meter Ordinance No. 564 is hereb,y amended so as to change and modify the parking on the streets hereinafter referred to, with the following provisional A. A parking meter zone is here~ designated and established in the City of Lubbock, Texas; said parking meter zone shall embrace that part ot the streets hereinafter designated which shall limit the time or parking as follows, to-wit: (1) ONE-HOUR PAPJCING ZONE --PARALLEL PABKING. The west side of Avenue H between Broadway and the first alley south of Broad~. v SECTICB 3. The authorized officials of the City of Lubbock are hereby directed to place Parking Meters Nos. H•l2, -o~, -04, -o6, eoOS, -10 on that portion of the street designated in Section 2 (Two) of this ordinance; said park- ing meters designating the kind of parking provided on that part of the street designated in Section 2 (Two) of this ordinance, and the authorized officials are further directed to place lines indicating the kind of parking provided for therein. SECTION 4• Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate, aid or abet the violation of any of the provisions of this ordinance and Ordinance No. 564 which it amends, shall, upon conviction, be fined in any sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100). SECTION 5. The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication of the descriptive caption of this ordinance, together with the penalty clause as an alternative method or publication as provided by law. SECTION 6. Whereas the streets or Lubbock, especially in the above described area, are ba~ over-cronded and there is a congested condition, and parking facilities are inadequate all of which creates a traffic hazard and endangers the life, limb and properly of the citizens who use said streets, and creates an imperat1~ public necessity that this ordinance be passed as an emergency measure to take effect·rrom and attar the date of its passage as made and provided by law. ·\. AND IT IS SO OBDERED. On motion of Commissioner HuJ stedler , seconded by Comniissioner ..
