AN ORDINANCE .IUIENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1148 TO INCLUDE IN SADJ
SECTION AND AU'rHORIZilln THE ESTABLISHt.ft!:NT, ERECTION AND MAINrENANCE OF UECHANI-
CAL TRAFFIC CONTROL LIGHTS AT CERTAIN INTEHSECTIONS AND CROSSINGS IN THE CITY OF
LUBBOCK; AND DECLARING AN El,oom.ENCY.
~, public necessity, convenience and safety require the establish-
ment of mechanical traffic control lights at the hereinafter named intersections
and crossings because of the increased number of vehicles entering the said in-
tersections and crossings and because of the traffic hazard at said intersections
and crossings, NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE· CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. Section 1 (One) of Ordinance No. 1148 is .hereby amended to
add and include the following street intersections:
1. Erskine Avenue and U.S • Highway No. ff7.
2. Avenue G at 15th Street. 3. Avenue J at 9th Street.
4. Avenue J at 15th Street.
5. Texas Avenue and 9th Street.
6. 1-ia.in Street and Avenue M.
?. 8th Street and Avenue J .
SECTION 2. Due to the fact that there is no ordinance authorizing
mechanical traffic control lights at the above named intersections and cros-
sings, and that the immediate erection of said mechanical traffic control lights
is required to control traffic at said intersections and crossings, creates an
emergency, and that all rules be suspended and that this ordinance became effec-
tive from and after its passage.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
On motion of Commissioner Morris , seconded by Commissione
Davis , the foregoing Ordinance was passed on the Sth day
of November , 19.iL with the following Commissioners voting "YEA":
Morris, Hufstedler, Davis, Thomas and Mayor ~~iteside
and the follol-ting Commissioners voting "NAY"1 : None
