CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND BEGINNING AT A POINT 2640 FEET EAST 1\ND 1449 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF SURVEY 80, BLOC~A; THENCE NORTH ALONG THE EAST LINE OF THIS TRACT 100 FEJ:T; THENCE WEST 1040 FEET TO THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THIS TRACT; TH~NCE SOUTH 764 FEET TO THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THIS TRACT; THENCE EAST 529. 3 ).'lfEET TO THE NORTHWESTERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF THE CROSBYTON AND SOUTH PLAINS RAILROAD; THENCE IN A NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE NORTHWEST.ERLY RIGHT-OF WAY LINE. OF THE RAIL~ ROAD TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING, THTS TRACT LOCATED ON NORTH AVENUE H AND KNOWN AS THE LUBBOCKMACHINE COMPANY, FROM A TEMPORARY "Art DISTRICT TO A 11]11 DISTRICT ; AND (2) ZONING CASE NO. 344. CHANGE TWO TRACTS OF LAND OF THE SANTA FE RAILROAD COMPANY LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST AND NORTHWEST CORNER OF AUBURN STREET AND AVENUE U, KNOWN~ ALL OF . .BLOCKS. 69, 70 AND 71 OF THE ROBERTS AND McWHORTER ADDITION LYING SOUTH OF THE NORTHEASTERLY RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE OF THE PANHANDLE AND SANTA FE RAILROAD COMPANY AND THE NORTH LINE OF AUBURN STREET AND NORTH OF THE CLOVIS ROAD (U.S. HIGHWAY NO. 84) FROM A TEMPOR.AR "A" DISTRICT TO AN 11L" DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the proposed changes in Zoning Districts as herei nafter made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commis sion for its recom- mendation, which r e commendation was received by the City Commission and, after due consideration, the City Commission unanimously finds that maki~g the proposed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public interest, and, WHEREAS, all notices have been given in compliance with Section 25 of Ordinance No. 661, as well as notices provided by Article 1011£, Revised Civil Statutes, as amended, and n otice was duly published on Oc·tober 7, 10, and 11, 1951, and the public hearing, a c cording to said notic e, was held at 2:00 P.M. on October 25, 1951, in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall, Lubbock, Texas, at which time persons appe ared in support of the propo- sal and, after said hearing, it was by the City Commission determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordi- nance and the Zoning Map be amended in substantial compliance with the proposal, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE, and the same is hereby amended a s follows, to-wit: (1) Zoning Case No. 342. Change a tract d land beginning at a point 2640 feet East and 1449 fe et North of the Sout hwest corner of Survey 80, Block A; THENCE North along the East line of this tract 100 feet; THENCE West 1040 feet to the Northwest corner of this tractJ THENCE South 764 feet to the Southwest c orner of this tract; THENCE East 529.3 feet to the Northwesterly right-of-way 0 (j line of the Crosbyton and South Plains Railroad; THENCE i!n a Northeasterly direction following the Northwesterly right-of-way line of the Railroad to the place of beginning, this tract located on North Avenue H and known as the Lubbock Machine Company, from a temporary "A" District to a t1J11 District. (2) Zoning Case No. 344. Change two tracts of land of the Santa Fe Railroad Company located on the Northeast and N6rthwest corner of Auburn Street and Avenue U, known as all of Blocks 69, 70 and 71 of the Roberts and McWhorter Addition lying South of the Northeasterly right-of-way line of the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railroad Company and the North line of Auburn Street and North of the Clovis Road (U.S. Highway No. 84), from a temporary "A" District to an 11L" District. From and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said tracts above referred to shall be changed to the Zoning Di·stricts indicated and the Official Zoning Map is hereby amended in accordance herewith. AND IT IS SO ORDERED. Passed and approved this, the 25th day of October, 1951, on first reading. Passed and approved this, the 8th day of November , 1951, on ~--------------second reading. M, in the City Commission room on the first floor of the City Hall in Lubbock to consider the recooonendations of the Zoning and Planning Commission to determine the advisability of adopting its proposal; and at lmich time and place all interested persons will be given an opportunity to protest against the proposed amendment or make recommendations in sup- port thereof.
