HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1145-1951 - Setting The Tax Rate And Levying A Tax Upon All Property Subject To Taxation - 09/27/19510 oe-2-::r • 1951 ORDIN"ANCE NO. ll4S to-ll-l.9Sl AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE TAX RATE AND LEVYING A TAX UPON ALL PROPERTY SUBJECT TO TAXATION W~THIN THE CITY OF LUBBOCK, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR 1951; APPORTIONING SAID LEVY AMONG THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND ITEMS FOR WHICH REVENUE MUST BE RAISED, LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX UPON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAX- ABLE, AND FIXING THE TIME IN WHICH SAID TAXES BE PAID, AND ASSESSING PENALTY AND INTEREST FOR THE NON-PAYMENT OF SUCH TAXES WITHIN THE TIME SET, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK; SECTION 1. THAT there shall be levied and assessed upon all property subject to taxation within the City of Lubbock, Texas, for the year 1951, the sum of $1.50 per One Hundred ($100. 00) Dollarst valuation thereof, ( and the same shall be applied to the various funds in the following manner: $0.51 per $100.00 valuation -to the Interest and Sinking Fund • 94 per $100.00 valuation -to the General Fund _ • 05 per $100.00 valuation -to the J3<iard of City Development $1.50 Fund SECTION 2. THAT all ad valorem taxes shall be pai~ before the first day of February, 1952, and taxes not paid by that date shall have to said taxes added the ·sum: of ten per cent (lOo/o) penalty, and bear interest from said date at six per cent (6%), and thereafter such fees and costs shall be added, as provided by law, for State and County taxes. SECTION 3. THAT there is levied upon all occupations taxable, one-half (1/2) the sum charged by the State of Texas for pursuing such occupation.
