AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 661 AND THE
OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK SO AS TO MAKE THE
FOLLOWING CHANGES: (l) CHANGE A TRACT OF LAND BEGINNING AT
THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SURVEY 80, BLOCK A; THENCE EASTERLY
ALONG NORTH LINE OF SAID SURVEY 1600 FEET; THENCE SOUTHWARDLY
AT RIGHT ANGLES,A DISTANCE OF 2020 FEET; THENCE NORTHWESTERLY
, AT AN ANGLE OF 125 DEGREES RIGHT A DISTANCE OF 1220 FEET;
1 THENCE WESTERLY AT AN ANGLE OF 35 DEGREES LEFT, A DISTANCE
' OF 600 FEET; THENCE NORTHERLY AT RIGHT ANGLES A DISTANCE OF
1320 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. 56.~ ACRES.. WD 2336 -WD
1797 -WD 1797-A, FROM A TEMPORARY 11A" DISTRICT TO A "J11 DISTRICT;
AND (5) CHANGE LOTS 15, 16, 17, AND 18, BLOCK 29, MADDOX ADDITION
FROM A 11 B'' DISTRICT TO AN nF 11 DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the proposed changes in Zoning Districts as hereinafter
made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for
its recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Com-
mission and, after due consideration, the City Commission unanimously
finds that making the proposed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the
public interest, and,
WHEREAS, all notices have been given in compliance with Section 25
of Ordinance No. 661, as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Revised
Civil Statutes, as amended, and notice was duly published on August 7, 8,
and 9, 1951, of a hearing to be held at 2:00 P.M. in the City Commission
Room on the first floor of the City Hall in Lubbock, to consider the recom-
mendations of the Zoning and Planning Commission to determine the advisa-
bility of adopting its proposals, and the City Commission continued said
hearing by giving due notice to ali interested parties that protests, if any,
would be further heard on August 28, 1951, at 2:00 P.M., at which time said
hearing was held and some persons were heard,and the hearing was duly
continued further until September 14, 1951,. at which time the City Commission,
after fully hearing all persons appearing in support of and against such pro-
posal, determined that it would be in the public interest, due to changed
conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map be amended in substan-
tial compliance with the proposed changes, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE,
and the same is hereby amended as follows, to~wit:
(1) Change a tract of land beginning at the Northwest corner of Survey
80, Block A; thence easterly along North line of said Survey 1600 feet; thence
southwardly at right angles a distance of 2020 feet; thence northwesterly at an
angle of 125 degrees right a distance of 1220 feet; thence westerly at an angle
of 35 degrees left, a distance of 600 feet; thence northerly at right angles a
distance of 1320 feet to the point of beginning. 56.5 acres. WD 2336 -WD 1797
WD 1797-A, from a temporary "A~' DistriCt to a 11J 1' District.
(5) Change Lots 15, 16, 17 and 18, Block 2.9, Maddox Addition, from
a 11B" District to an 11F 11 District.
From and after passage a nd effective date of this Ordinance, said
lots and tracts above referred to shall be changed t o the Zoning Districts
indicated, and the Official Zoning Map is hereby amended in accordance
herewith.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED,
Passed and approved this, the 14th day of September, 1951, on first
reading.

NOTICE is hereb,y given that ,the Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended
to the City Commission that Zoning Ordinance No. 661 be amended so that:
Change a tract of land beginning at the northwest corner
of Survey SO, Block A; thence easterly along north line

The City CoJTmission will hold a public hearing on August 23, 1951 at 2100 o'clock
P. M. in the City Commission room on the first floor of the City· Hall in Lubbock
to consider the recommendations of the Zoning and Planning Commission to determine
the advisability of adopting its proposal; and at wM.ch t~ and place all iDte-
rested persons will be given an opportunity to protest against the proposed amend-
ment or make recommendations 1n support· thereof'.
After said hearing, the City Commission will determine whether the Zoning Ordir~nce
'~ be amended in accordance with euch recommendation.
