BLOCK 34, EVA M. RICE ADDITION FROM AN ''A" DISTRICT TO A "Bu DISTRICT; (3) CHANGE ALL OF BLOCK 64. ROBERTS AND McWHORTER ADDITION FROM A TEMPORARY "A11 DISTRICT TO A "K" DISTRICT;; (4) CHANGE A TRACT OF lAND IN SURVEY 3, BLOCK 0, ACROSS FROM McKENZIE STATE PARK ON EAST BROADWAY, COMMENCING AT AN IRON STAKE SET .323 FEET WEST AND 232 .. 8 FEET SOUTH OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE SOUTHWEST ONE-QUARTER OF SECTION 3, BLOCK 0; THENCE WEST 167 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING. BEGINNING AT THIS POINT; THENCE WEST 600 FEET ALONG THE RIGHT-OF-WAY LINE. OF EAST BROADWAY; THENCE SOUTH 285 FEET TO THE INTERSECTION OF ELM STREET AND THE NORTH UNE OF THE ALLEY BEHIND SAID TRACT; THENCE EAST 600 FEET; THENCE NORTH 277 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING FROM A TEMPORARY "A" DISTRICT TO AN 11H" DISTRICT; AND {7!) CHANGE ,' LOT 11, BLOCK 1, LOT 21, BLOCK 2, AND LOTS 1 AND 2, BLOCK 3, VANDELIA VILLAGE ADDITION FROM A TEMPORARY "A11 DISTRICT TO AN "F'' DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the proposed changes i~ Zoning Districts as hereinafter made have been duly presented to the Zoning and Planning Commission for its recommendation, which recommendation was received by the City Commission and, after due consideration, the City Commission unanimously finds that making the proposed changes as hereinafter set out will be in the public inter- est, and WHEREAS, all notices have been given in compliance with Section' 25 of Ordinance Nc . 661, as well as notices provided by Article lOllf, Revised Civil Statutes, as amended, and notice was duly published on August 7, 8, and 9, 1951, of a hearing t o be held at 2:00 P.M .. in the City Commission Room on the first floor of the City Hall in Lubbock, to consider the recommendations of the Zoning and Planning Commission to determine the advisability of adopting its proposals, and the City Commission met on said date to consider such propo- sals and continued the public hearing to be completed on Tuesday, August 28, 1951, at 2:00 P.M •• and notices of such continuance were mailed to all interested persons; and at such time, to-wit, on August 28, 1951, a:t 2:00 P.M., the hear- ing on the recommendations was resumed, and several persons appeared at said hearing in support thereof, with a few persons voicing objections to some of the proposals, all of which was duly considered by the City Commission; and after said hearing it was determined by said Commission that it would be in the public interest, due to changed conditions, that the Zoning Ordinance and the Zoning Map be amended in substantial compliance with certain proposed changes, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT Ordinance No. 661 and the Official Zoning Map BE, and the same is hereby amended as follows, to-wit: ~o \ ... ;J (Z.) Change Lots 6, 7, 8 and 9, Block 34, Eva M. Rice Addition from. an t'A11 District to a ''B" District. {3) Change all of Block 64, Roberts and McWhorter Addition from. a temporary "A" District to a "K" District. (4) Change a tract of land in Survey 3, Block 0, across from. McKenzie State Park on East Broadway, commencing at an iron stake set 3Z.3 feet West and Z.3Z.. 8 feet South of the Northeast corner of the Southwest one -quarter (SW 1/4) of Section 3, Block 0; thence West 167 feet to the point of beginning. Beginning at this point; thence West 600 feet along the right-of-way line of East Broadway; thence South 285 feet to the intersection of Elm Street and the North line of the alley behind said tract; thence East 600 feet; thence North Z.77 feet to the point of beginning from. a temporary "A" District to an "H" District. ' {7) Change Lot 11, Block 1, Lot 21, Block 2, and Lots 1 and 2, Block 3, Vandelia Village Addition from a temporary "A" District to an "F" District. From and after passage and effective date of this Ordinance, said lots and tracts above referred to shall be changed to the Zoning Districts indicated, and the Official Zoning Map is hereby amended in accordance herewith. AND IT IS SO ORDERED. Passed and approved this, the 28th day of August, 1951, on first reading. M. in the City Commission room on the first floor of the City Hall in Lubbock to consider the recommendations of the Zoning and Planning Commission to determine the advisability of adopting its proposal; and at which t:i.lre and place all i:at.e- rested persons will be given an opportunity to protest against the proposed amend- ment or make recommendations in support therecf.
