AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PART OF AVENUE L
LYING WEST OF BLOCK ONE (1)1 NELSON HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY
OF LUBBOCK.
WHEREAS, in the course of highway development and changes and altera-
tions made and to be made near Milam's Orphans' Home, the City Commission
finds that a part of Avenue L lying West of Block One (1), Nelson Heights Addi-
tion to the City of Lubbock, is not needed for street or any other public purposes
and is not now being used for any such purpose, and it would be in the public
interest if the same be abandoned and closed, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That part of Avenue L .lying West of Block One (1), Nelson
Heights Addition to the City of Lubbock, as herein described by metes and
bounds, is hereby abandoned and closed, said description being as follows, to-wit
BEGINNING at a point 1375 feet East and 1757.2 feet South
of the N. W. corner of Survey Eight (8), Block B, Lubbock
County, Texas, which point is in the East line of the Fort
Worth and Denver City Railway Right-of-Way, for the
N. W. corner of this tracti
THENCE South a distance of 182.8 f~et to a point for the
s •. W. corner of this tract;
THENCE East a distance of fifty (50) feet to a point which
is the S. W. corner of Lot Ten {10), Block One (1), Nelson
Heights Addition to the City of Lubbock, this point being
the S. E. corner of this tract;
THENCE North a distance of 182.8 feet to a point for the
N. E. corner o£ this tract;
THENCE West a distance of fifty (50) feet to the POINT
OF BEGINNING, and containing 0. 21 acres.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
Passed and approved on first reading by unanimous vote of the City
Commission this 26th day of July, 1951 •

Commission this 9th day of August , 1951.
