WHEREAS, an area on the East side of North College Avenue adjacent to the East curb and in front of municipal number 306 North College is needed in connection with the operation of a wholesale ice cream busin~ss located at 3o6 North College that requires the loading and unloading of merchandise at the curb line in order to avoid obstructing traffic on said North College .Avenue, THEREFORE; BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CONMISSIOU OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT, the area on the East side of North College Avenue adjacen to the East Curb and in front of municipal number 306 North College is hereby designated as a loading zone, SECTION 2. THAT,the East curb line of North College Avenue adjacent to the area described in Section One (1) shall be painted yellow with the following lettering: ttLQADING ZONE". SECTION 3. THAT, after the effective date of this ordinance it-shall be unlawful for one to permit, allow or suffer a motor vehicle to stop in the area described in Section One (1) for any purpose other than ,.,rhile actually engaged in the loading and unloading of merchandise, and a person found guilty under this Ordinance is. guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in any sum of money not more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars. SECTION 4. THAT, the City Secretary is hereby authorized and directed to publish the descriptive caption of this Ordinance together with Penalty Clause No. Three (3) as an alternative method of publication provided by law. AND IT IS SO ORDERED. On motion of Commissioner Dav~ , seconded by Commissioner Thpmao , the foregoing Ordinance was passed on first reading this 12th day of July _, 1951, by unanimous vote of the City Colllllission On motion of Commissioner Thomas , seconded by Commissioner Huf~t~dl~r ,the foregoing Ordinance was passed on second reading this 26th day of Jylv ,1951, by unanimous vote of the City Commission. -.
