AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE PARKING OF ANY VEHICLE ON
TExAS AVENUE ON THE EAST AND WEST SIDE OF SAID STREET BETWEEN
THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF SIXTH (6th) STREET AND THE NORTH
BOUNDARY LINE OF 19TH STREET UNLESS SAID VEHICLE BE PARKED
PARALLEL TO THE CURB AND THE RIGHT WHEELS THEREOF BE WITHIN
TWELVE (12) INCHES OF THE CURB; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CHIEF OF POLICE TO MARK THAT PORTION OF SAID STREET TO INDI-
CATE PARALLEL PARKING; AND PROVIDING ANY PERSON, FIRM OR
CORPORATION WHO SHALL VIOLATE OR AID AND ABET VIOLATION OF ANY

WHEREAS, the traffic has increased on Texas Avenue in Lubbock, Texas,
to the extent that angle parking will interfere with the movement of traffic in
and on said street and will impede the normal flow of traffic, and,
WHEREAS, it has been recomm ended by the Citizens• Traffic Commis-
sion of the City of Lubbock that on Texas Avenue between 6th Street and 19th
Street only parallel parking be permitted; THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
SECTION 1. That it shall hereafter be unlawful for any person, firm
or corporation to allow, permit or suffer any vehicle to be parked on that portion
of the street hereinafter described, unless said vehicle be parked parallel to the
curb and the right wheels of said. vehicle be within twelve (12) inches of the curb.
SECTION 2. That portion of the street referred to in Section 1 is as
follows: ·
Texas Avenue on the East and West side of said street
between the South boundary line of 6th Street and the
North boundary line of 19th Street.
SECTION 3. The Chief of Police is hereby autho:dzed and directed to
mark that portion of said street above described to indicate parallel parking.
SECTION 4. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate or aid
and c:bet violation of any provision of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be
fined in any sum not exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200).

SECTION 5. All provisions of ordinances in conflict with the provisions
of this ordinance relating to parking on that portion of said street above des-
cribed are hereby repealed, but the Parking-Meter Ordinance and its amend-
ments establishing time zones and ordinances establishing loading zones and
no-parking zones are not repealed and shall not be considered repealed by
this ordinance.
SECTION 6. The City Secretary is hereby directed to cause publication
of the descriptive caption of this ordinance together with the penalty clause
(Section 4) as an alternative provided by law.
AND IT IS SO ORDERED.
