HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1069-1951 - Establishing And Regulating Rates To Be Charged By SW Public Service Company - 09/19/1951~0 0 4--12.-1.951 ORDINANCE NO. 1069 0'+-2JJ> -'.9 s \ ---.;..;~- AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING AND REGULATING RATES TO BE CHARGED BY SOUTHWESTERN PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY FOR ELECTRIC SERVICE ACCORDING TO RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL CLASSIFICATIONS; PRBSCRIBING THE KIND OF USE TO WHICH EACH CLASSIFICATION IS APPLI- CABLE; PROVIDING MINIMUM CHARGE OF SEVENTY -FIVE CENTS (75f) PER MONTH FOR CUSTOMERS USING TWENTY -SIX (Z6) KWH OR LESS PER MONTH, AND A MINIMUM OF ONE DOLLAR SIXTY CENTS ($1. 60) PER MONTH FOR CUSTOMERS USING MORE THAN TWENTY-SIX (Z6) KWH PER MONTH, BOTH MINIMUMS APPLICABLE TO RESIDENTIAL CLASSIFICATIONS, AND PROVID- ING FOR MONTHLY MINIMUMS OF SEVENTY-FIVE CENTS (75f) FOR COM- MERCIAL CLASSIFICATIONS USING THIRTY-FOUR (34) KWH OR LESS PER MONTH, AND TWO DOLLARS ($Z. 00) PER MONTH MINIMUM CHARGE FOR CUSTOMERS USING MORE THAN THIRTY-FOUR (34) KWH PER MONTH, WHICH RATES DELETE FROM EXISTING RATES THE TEJI{_(lO) PER CENT PROMPT PAYMENT DISCOUNT; AND SETTING A DATE FOR PUBLIC HEARING. WHEREAS, Southwestern Public Service Company has filed its applica- tion and schedule of residential and commercial rates with the City Commission, for consideration and approval by the City Commission of an increase in rates by deleting i:om its schedules the ten (10) per cent prompt payment discount pro- vision in both classifications, and the Commission is of the opinion that a public hearing should be held in connection with such consideration; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: SECTION 1. THAT from and after the final passage of this Ordinance, unless modified by the City Commissiqn, the following rates shall be charged by the applicant for all electric service, according to classifications hereinafter set out: RESIDENTIAL APPLICABLE: To residential customers for lighting and incidental purposes, including the operation of electric refrigera- tors .or ranges where used in private residences, individual family apartments and in private garages. RATE: For consumptions of Z6 kwh or less per month, the following rate shall apply: First 25 kwh used per month @ 6¢ per kwh Additional kwh used per month@ 5~ per kwh When the consumption is more than Z6 kwh per month, the rate stated above shall not apply and all energy used shall be billed in accordance with the following rate: First 100 kwh used per month@ 4¢ per kwh Next 100 kwh used per month@ 3f per kwh Additional kwh used per month @Z¢ per kwh ..... 0 0 c ~ . . , *The minimum shall be 75~ per month for customers usl.ng 26 kwh or less per month. The minimum shall be $1.60 per month for custom- ers using more than 26 kwh per month. COMMERCIAL APPLICABLE;: To all commer cial places of business, including stores, shops, factories, warehouses) hotels, lodges, churches, apartment houses on one meter, garages and filling stations. RATE: For consumptions or 34 hwh or less per month, the following rate shall apply: First Additional 25 kwh used per month @ 6f per kwh 9 kwh used per month@ 5~ per kwh When the consumption is more than 34 kwh per month, the rate stated above shall not apply, and all energy used shall be billed in accordance with the following rate: First 100 kwh used per month@ 4¢ per kwh Next 900 kwh used per monflh@ 2. 5¢ per kwh Next 4000 kwh used per month @ 2¢ per kwh Next 15000 kwh used·per month@ 1. 5~ per kwh Additional kwh used per month @ lf per kwh CHARACTER OF SERVICE: If metered on secondary side of distribu- tion transformers lighting service may be either 120/240 volt, 3 wire single phase• or.lZO volt, 2 wire single phase. If polyphase service is required, it DISCOUNT: shall be 3 phase, 240 volts, unless otherwise specified. Where primary metering is used, service supplied will be 2400 volt, lingle or polyphase as the case may require. Where primary metering is used, 10% will be deducted on all bills except minimum monthly bills. *The minimum shall be 75¢ per month for customers using 34 kwh, or less, per montho.L /fhe~minimwn shall be $2. 00 per month for custom- ers using more than 34 kwh per month. SECTION 2. A public hearing on this :pr-oposed Ordinance is hereby set for Apir.i.'l 2E>, , 1951, at 2:oo o'clock _f. M., to be held in the regular meeting place of the City Commission on the first floor of the City Hall in Lubbock.
