HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance - 1016-1950 - Levying A Tax Upon All Property Subject To Taxation - 08/10/1950oe .... to -t-960 ORDINANCE lit.. ~6 oe-2-LI--1..9SC AN ORDINANCE SEl'TING THE TAX RATE AND LEVYINl A TAX UPON ALL PROPERl'Y SUBJECT TO TAXAT~ON WITHIN THE CrrY OF LUBEOCK, TEXAS, FOR THE YEAR 1949; APPORl'IONING SAID LEVY AMONG THE VARIOUS FUNDS AND ITEMS FOR WHICH REVENUE MtJST BE RAISED, LEVYING AN OCCUPATION TAX 'UPON ALL OCCUPATIONS TAXABLE, AND FIXI~ THE -TIME IN WHICH SAID TAXES BE PAID, AND ASSESSiliZ PENALTY AND INTEREST FOR THE NON-PAYMENI' OF SUCH TAXES WITHIN THE TIME SEX, THEREFORE: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C01'11M.ISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCKs SECTION 1. THAT, there shall be levied and assessed upon all property subject to taxation within the City of Lubbock, Texas, for the year 19501 the sum of $1.50 per One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars valuation thex~or, and the same shall be applied to the various funds in the following manner: .52; per $100.00 valuation • to the Interest and Sinking Fund .925 per $100.00 valuation -to the General Fund .050 per $100.00 valuation -to the Board of City 1.50 Development Fund SECTION 2. THAT, all ad valorem taxes shall be paid before the first day of Februar.y, 1951, and taxes not paid by that date shall have to said taxes added the sum of ten (10%) percent penalty, and bear interest from said date at six (6%) percent, and thereafter such fees and costs shall be added, as pro• vided by law for State aDd County taxes. SECTION 3. THAT, there is levied upon all occupations taxable, one·half (1/2) the sum charged by the State or Texas for pursuing such occupation.
