BE IT ORD.UNED BI THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCKs
SECTION 1. The Recorder of' the Corporation Court ahall keep a traffic d~t
in which he ahall enter the f'ollowi.Di into~tion, to-witz llluber of' the a~u
given by the o!f'icer, license nwaber or the motor vehicle involved, DBlle of' 1;4e
party receiving the sWIIDons, the o.tf'ense, nuaber ot tha receipt shori.Dg p81114Dt,

said traf'f'ic docket shall be wsed in cases of' traf'tic Yiolationa where pleaa ot
guilty are e~ered aDd the fine assessed aDd paid. The into~tion required in
the said traffic docket shall be entered b.f the Recorder in the trattia 4o0tii
as each case iS disposed ot by the Court. The trattic dOOket shall be made in
duplicate and signed. in duplicate daiq by the Recorder; the duplicate copy shall
remain, be kept aDd be maintaiDed in the custocQ' of the Clerk of the Corporation
Court tor the perma.Dent record thereof', aDd the or!giD&l cow of' the dockst sheet
shall be uaed aa the daily c~ report tor the Corporation Court, aDd shall be de•
livered to the Auditor ot the City ot Lubbock, with the 110De78 collected duriDg t
past 24 hours by the Corporation Court. Upon reoeiYiDg said origi.Dal docket sheet

SCTION 2. The said Corporation Court shall contime to keep and maintain
another aDd separate well .. bound docket sbowiag all other offenses &riaiDg under
the ordiD&nces of the City of Lubbock aDd UDder the laws ot the state of fexas, aDd
1the final disposition ot each offense.
SECTION 3. UDder the direction of the Recorder, all tines or penalties assessed
by the Corpol:'ation Court shall be paid to aDd received by the Clerk of the Court or
the Desk Sergeant on duty in the Police Station, or a person acting in that capacity
who is authorized to perform the duties ot the Desk Sergeant, who shall issue and pre
sent to the person pqi11g said tine a rmmbered receipt showing pqment upon receivizc
the .,.,._DC ot said tine; the Recorder ot the said Corporation Court shall be respon·
sible tor the delivery ot all mone7s collected as tiues during the next precediug 24
lhours, with the origiDal. docket sheet tor the same period ot time, to the Auclitor ot
the Ci t7 of Lubbock. .
SECTION 4• When the Recorder has established miniaum tines applicable to minor
1tratfic ordinarace violations, the Clerk ot the Cour:b or the Desk Sergeant is authoriz
to accept a written plea of guilty, aDd the miDiaum tine in cash, tor transmission to
1the Corporation Court, aDd it the Recorder accepts and approves the plea, ae shall

SECTION 5. Receipts shall be concurrently issued and delivered to all persons
tendering a plea ot guilty as herein provided.
SEOTIO.N 6. From and a.tter the e.tf'ective passage of this ordinance the Clerk ot
~he Corporation Court, and those persona regularl7 ocoaptlQg the position ot aDd
ld.l'.lg as Desk Sergeants in the Police Station, or person acting in that capacity
o are authorized to pert01'11 the duties of the Desk Sergeant, shall give a BoDCl in
some regular]¥ accred.i ted surety Comp&t\f authorized to do business tmder the laws ot
~he state of Texas in such slDl ot ONE THOUSAND ($1,000) DOLLARS, such Bond to be con-
. itioned upon the effective accottDting or all moneys oomiDg into the hand o£ a~ such
tticer. The premiwa ot such Bond is to be paid b7 the OitT ot Lubbook.
j SECTION 7. A:r:s7 officer or other emplo7ee ot the City who shall fail to accoUDt

ion to aDf other penalt.y prescribed by law, shall be ,subject to immediate discharge.

SECTION 8. The original duplicate ot the said trattic clocket shall be kept and
ntained in the office ot the Clerk or the Corporation Court and become a permanent
· ecord thereof and whoe-ger shall destroy, autilate, secrete a~ part or all voluaea
t the said traffic docket required to be kept b.r this ordinance shall be guilty or a
