BEGINNING AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE NCR TH BOUNDARY LINE OF 19TH STREET AND PIERCE AVENUE AT A POINT IN THE CITY LIMITS LINE; THENCE SOUTH ABOUT 4650 FEET FOLLOWING CITY LIMITS UNE TO A POINT IN THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF 32ND STREET; THENCE EAST ABOUT 650 FEET FOL- LOWING CITY LIMITS LINE AND SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF 32ND STREET TO APOINT IN WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF FILLMORE AVENUE; THENC8 SOUTH A $CUT 660 FEET FOLLOWING CITY LIMITS LINE TO A POINT IN CENTER -LINE OF 34TH STREET; THENCE WEST ABOUT 8550 FF�ET FOLLOWING THE CENTER LINE LF 34TI1 STREET TO A POINT WHICH IS ABOUT 150 FEET WEST OF THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF SUR- VEY 6, BLOCK E2, SAID POINT IS IN THE SOUTH BOUNDARY LINE OF THE SANTA FE RAILWAY R10HT-OF-WAY; THENCE NORTH ABOUT 200 FEET TO A POINT IN THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF THE SANTA FE RAILWAY COMPANY RIGHT-OF-WAY. THENCE IN A NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE 4 THE SANTA FE RAILWAY RIGHT-OF-WAY ABOUT 8300 FEET TO A POINT IN THE NORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF 19TH STREET; THENCE EAST ABOUT 1200 FEET FOLLOWING THE 14ORTH BOUNDARY LINE OF 19th STREET, TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE CITY LIMIT LINE, THE PLACE OF BEGINNING. WHEREAS, a large group of property owners and others residing within the hereinafter described area, or owning property within said area, have petitioned the Governing Body of the City of Lubbock to annex and include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock and the Gover- ni% Body is ofthe opinion that said area is in line of developmebt, growth and expansion being experienced by the City of Lubbock, and that the inclusion within the corporate limits and annexation of said area is in the public in- terest, arxi said Governing Body being empowered by Section 3AI Article I, Chapter I of the Charter to annex by Ordinance additicnal territories lying adjacent to the City Limits and said area and territory herein described is adjacent to and abuts the City Limits of the City of Lubbock, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK- SECTION 1. That the hereinafter described area and territory be and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the corporate limits of the City of Lubbock, said area being described by metes and bounds as follows: AREA SIXTEEN. BEGINNING at the intersection of the North boundary line of 1 S reet and Pierce Avenue at a point in the city limits line; THENCE South about 4650 feet following city limits line, to a point in the South boundary line of 32nd Street• THENCE East 650 feet following city limits line and South boundary line of 3 nd Street to a point in West boundary line of Fillmore Avenue; THENCE South about 660 feet following city limits line to a point in center-11ne of 34th Street; THENCE West about 8550 feet following the center line of 34th Street to a point Which is about 150 feet West of the Northeast corner of Survey 6, Block E2, said point is in the South boun- dary line of the Santa Fe Railway right-cif.way;xTHENCL North about 200 feet to a point in the North Boundary Lineof the Santa Fe A ilway Company right�- of -ray; THENCE in a Northeasterly direction following the North boundary line of the Santa Fe Railway right-of-way -about 8300 feet to a point in the North boundary line of 19th Street; THENCE East about 1200 feet following the North Boundary Line of 19th Street, to its intersection with the city limits line, the place of beginning. SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be forthwith published i# a daily news- paper published in the City of Lubbock, Texas, one time and shall not be thereafter finally acted upon until at least thirty (303 days have elapsed after such publication, and if finally passed in its present form the boundary limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereby be fixed to include the area, territory and extension described in Section 1 of this Ordinance. On motion of Commissioner Hufatedler, seconded by Commissioner Price, and carried by an affirmative majority vote of the City Commission of the City of Lubbock, this Ordinance was ordered to be published at a Special Meeting of the City Commission this the 121st day of October, 1949.
