Home My WebLink AboutOrdinance - 909-1949 - Extending The City Limits Of The City Of Lubbock - 04.14.1949hM �►.st�jl ��-r�.Ht �' 1 - [a1-94-9M ORDINANCE NO 909 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE CITY LIMIT'S OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK: WHEREAS, a majority of the inhabitants, qualified to vote for ,members of the Legislature, of the territory hereinafter described and which adjoins the City Limits of the City of Lubbock, have duly petitioned the Mayer and City Commission and voted in favor of be- coming a part of the City of Lubbock, and, WHEREAS, three of said persons so qualified have made affidavit as required by Article 974, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, which petition and affidavit constitute the vote of the said persons and have been duly filed with the Mayor who has duly certified the same to the City Commission for appropriate action, and, WHEREAS, said territory adjoins the existing City Limits and boundaries of the City of Lubbock and does not exceed in width one- half mile, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF TIIE CITY OF LUBBOC.H .& The existing and present City Limits and boundary of the City of Lubbock is hereby extended so as to annex and include within the cor- porate limits of the City of Lubbock, the following described property, said tract being known as McMillan Heights, a sub -division and known ias Installment No. One, described by metes and bounds as follows, to - wit; BSCrINNING in the present City Limits at a point in the East line of Van Buren Avenue, said point being the Southwest corner of Lot 15, Block 27, Maddox Addition, to the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas; THENCE West 1320 feet to a point fret the Southwest corner of this tract; TT-�iCE North 1000 feet to a point for the Northwest corner of this tract; 'THENCE East 1320 feet to a point for the Northeast corner of this tract; THENCE South 1000 feet along the present City Limits to the place of beginning.
