WHEREAS* the Governing Body finds said area together with the
North one-half (NJ) of Block 2, Denison Heights Addition, adjoins
the existing city limits and boundaries and that all of Blocks 1, 2,
3 and 4 of said Denison Heights Addition is in the line of development,
growth and expansion being experienced by the City of Lubbock and
the Governing Body of said C�ty finds that the inclusion of the entire
area here referred to and hereafter described by metes and bounds,
within the corporate limits to be in the puplic interest, and,
WIiEAFAS, the City Commission is empowered by Section 3a, Article
I, Chapter 1 of the Charter of the City of Lubbock to annex, by
Ordinance, additional territories lying adjacent to the City of Li,ibbo
THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COTAMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK:
Section 1, That Blocks 1, 3, 4 and South one-half (SD of
Block 2, Denison Heights Addition, described by metes and bounds
as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point in the center of the intersection of
Taylor Avenue and 30th Street, in the present City Limits
of the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, said point
being 1320 feet North and 1320 feet West of the Southeast
corner of Section 159 Block B, Lubbock County, Texas; Thence
West along the present city limits line, a distance of 685
feet to the West line of Filmore Avenue at the intersection
of 30th Street; Thence South along the West line of Filmore
Avenue 157.5 feet to the North line of the alley in Block 2
of Denison Heights; Thence West 635 feet to the center line
of Pierce Avenue; Thence South along the center line of
Pierce Avenue a distance of 502.5 feet to the center line of
32nd Street; Thence Past 1320 feet to the center line of
Taylor Avenue, same being a point in the present City Limits;
Thence North along the present City limits line 660 feet
to the place of beginning.
BE and the sane is hereby annexed to and included within the
corporate limits of the City of Lubbock.
Section 2. And the North one-half (N2 ) of Block 2, Denison
Heights Addition, otherwise described by metes and bounds to be
as follows! to -tit:
Beginning at a point 685 feet West of the center of the
intersection of Taylor Avenue and 30th Street in the
present City Limits of the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas; said point being 1320 feet North and 2005 feet
West of the Southeast corner of Section 15, Block B.
Lubbock County, Texas; Thence West along the present

projection of the North line of the alley in Block
2, Denison Heights; Thence East 635 feet to the West

BE and the same is hereby annexed to and included within the
corporate limits of the City of Lubbock.
Section 3. The boundary limits of the City of Lubbock are hereby
altered and extended to include the areas described in Sections 1
and 2 of this Ordinance so that the extended city limits line shall
hereafter be located as follows, to -wit;
Beginning at a point in the center of the intersection
of Taylor Avenue and 30th Street in the present limits
and boundaries line of the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County,
Texas, said point being 1320 feet North and 1320 feet
West of the Southeast corner of Section 15, Block B,
L193boak County, Texas; Thence South on the center line
of T4¢lor Avenue 660 feet to the center of the inter.

Section 4. This Ordinance shall be published in a daily newspaper
published in the City of Lubbock one time and shall not thereafter
be finally acted upon until at least thirty (30) days have elapsed
after such publication and if finally passed in its present form
the boundary limits of the City of Lubbock shall thereafter be fixed
to include the extension described in Section 3 of this Ordinance.

Avalanche , and thirty (30) days having elapsed since said pffbllcatio=
ihe same was duly passed and approved on first reading this the
Bth day of April , 1949 on motion of Commissioner Hufstedler

an affirmative vote of the City Commission.
On second reading this Ordinance was duly passed and approved
this the 12th day of 1949 on a motion by
Commissioner Mi7s e7l ��°, secon e y Whiteside , and unanimously
passed by an affirmative vote of the C y Commission.

Additions have petitioned the Governing Body of the City of Lubbock

Beginning at a point in the center of the intersection of
Taylor Avenue and 30th Street, in the present City Limits
of the City of Lubbock, Lubbock County, Texas, said paint
being 1320 feet North and 1320 feet West of the Southeast
corner of Section 15, Block B, Lubbock County, Texas; Thence
West along the present city limits lines, a distance of 685
feet to the West line of Filmore, Avenue at the intersection
