AN ORDINANCE AME NDING c.RDTIUNCE NO. 661, SO AS TO TAKE THE SOUTH 130 FEET OF
BLOCK 10, ROBERTS & MCWHORTER ADDITION OUT OF A "C" DISTEICT AND PLACING IT IN A
"G" ZONING DISTRICT, (SAID TRACT BEING ALSO A PART OF THE BRYAN~ALKER SUBDIVISION
LYING SOUTH OF THE EAST ... WEST ALLEY}; TAKING THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED BY METES AND
BOUNDS IN SECTION 2, OF THIS ORDINANCE OUT OF A "B" DISTRICT AND PLACING IT IN AN
"E" ZONING DISTRICT; TAKING LOTS 4, 5, 6, 7 AND 8, BIOOK 1, MCElROY SUBDIVISION OUT
OF A "B" DISTRICT AND PLACING THEM IN RfWE" ZONING DISTRICT; TAKING LOTS 9, 10, 11,
12, 13, 14, 15 ,AND 16, BLOCK 1, MCELROY SUBDIVISION OUT OF A "B" DISTRICT AND
PLA.CING THEM IN AN "E" ZONING DISTRICT; TAKING LOTS 1, 2, 3 1 4, 5 AND 6, BLOC.K 1,
PALACE HEIGHTS ADDITION OUT OF AN HAtt DISTRICT .AND PLACING THEM IN AN trEif ZONING
DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commis~ion has recommended to the City Commis•
sion that certain changes be made in Zoning Ordinance No. 661, as expressed by
the terms of this ordinance, and in consideration of such recommendations the Cit.Y
Commission caused notice of bearing thereon to be published in the Lubbock Avalanche
Journal June 18, June 19, and June 20, 1948, an~,
V~, said notice was so published and the public hearing, according there-
to was held in the Ci~ Commission room on the second floor of the City Hall in the
Ci~ of Lubbock at 2130 o'clock P.M., J~ 8, 1948, at which time interested per-
sons appeared at said hearing and after which said hearing the City Commission de-
termined that it would be in the public interest that Ordinance No . 661, BE, amend•
ed in substantial compliance with the recommendations of the Planning and Zoning
Commission, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF LUBBOCK1
SECTION 1. That the South 130 feet of Block 10, Roberts & McWhorter Addition
be changed from a non to a "G" Zoning District, (said tract being also a part of
the Bryan-Walker Sub-division, lying South of the East-West alley).
SECTION 2. That a tract of land described as followsa Beginning at the South•
east corner of Lot 8, Block 1, Bray Sub-division; Thence North along the property
line of said Lot 8, a distance of 140 feet to the Northeast corner of said Lot 8,
Block 1, Bray Sub-division; Thence East a distance of 390 feet to the Northeast
corner of the described tract; Thence South 140 feet to the Southeast corner of
the described tract; Thence West 390 feet to the point of beginning, be changed
from a lfB" to an "E" Zoning District.
SECTION 3. That Lots 4, ;, 6, 7 and 8, Block 1, MoElro.r Subdivision be changed
from a "B" to an "E''" Zoning District.
SECTION 4• That Lots 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16, Block 1, MoElrqy Sub•
division be changed from a "B" to an 11E" Zoning District.
SECTION 5. That Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 1, Palace Heights Addition
be changed from an "A" to an "E" Zoning District.
SECTION 6. That the official Zoning Map of the City of Lubbock, BE, and the
same is hereby amended so as to indicate thereon the foregoing amendments.
